It is difficult to copy Guardiola's methods because it is multilayered and each layer is dynamic. He is a composer to an orchestra knowing which parts of the ensemble to tweak to keep the masterpiece non monotonous. Playing the ball from the back for example can be 1) pass to the FBs, failing that 2) pass to Fern if FBs are marked, failing that 3) pass to deep-laying Aguero if FBs are marked provided Fern moves to one FB side, failing that 4) hoof the ball to wide player if Aguero is also marked provided two midfield players are marking Aguero, etc.
Pep has it down to the minor details and he remembers every single contingency to every other contingency. He has a sunburst diagram in his head. That has been alluded to in Pep confidential where he changes the tactics as soon as he finds out his previous has been found out, and it keeps the opposition guessing.
