I was going to buy it. I've bought the last god knows how many. I downloaded the demo and liked it. But then i heard good things about the Fifa demo, so i downloaded that and it seems to be better. I've not played the PES demo since so i might as well wait for Fifa. I never thought i would say that. What normally happens with Fifa is i get bored of it after a couple of weeks because it normally lacks the depth and variation which PES gives me, but there's something great about this years Fifa, provided EA don't mess it up with their release day patch.
They need to tone down the effectiveness of shooting on PES. Every shot is either a goal, or almost a goal. It's a little over-powered. Everything else feels good. Hopefully this years is another step in the right direction. 15 was good (much better than fifa 15 imo) and probably lasted me around 7 months. But i only really have time for one this year, so i'm going to give first dibs to Fifa this year. The demo is class. Be great to have two class footy games to choose from. Can only be a good thing.

The commentary gets turned off after about a week for me, so it's not an issue.

Try changing the shooting setting, sounds like it's on basic. Try advanced on even manual.
Got this through the post this morning, very excited. Started up MyCLub (PES UT) and you get a bunch of free stuff thrown at you, which is lovely. I also got the Day 1 edition, meaning I got one random free TOTY player, which turned out to be Mr Messi! Result. Safe to say that FIFA aren't this generous with the big name players.
The player faces really are outstanding on the famous players, when you open an agent it zooms around the player for a bit and you can already tell who it is without it telling you, which is outstanding. Can't wait to get stuck into this later today, but very pleased with it so far. It will be muted within an hour or two though, as like all football games the music and commentary are shit and annoying.

I am implausibly bad at defending on this game. Shooting does seem overpowered, but even still it's pretty embarrassing that I let in 5 goals in my first game on Regular dificulty. Luckily I came back from 4-1 down to 6-5 in extra time, mainly thanks to my on loan Yaya Toure and Neymar getting 5 goals between them. I don't think I;ve played a game where it is quite so noticeable that some players are better than others. You get the ball with Yaya and he feels like a tank and just bursts through people, while Neymar feels twice as light and skips around tackles. My team full of 60 rated nobodies all feel and play like shit though, which is about right.
I imagine online games are incredibly high scoring though, as the shooting seems very OP and defending seems much harder than attacking at first (I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but it's not as easy as on some games)

Sorry mate meant to say, playing on zero assistance and manual shooting. Don't like advanced shooting too much. I just feel like every shot follows the same trajectory. It's not a game breaker, and I was enjoying it until I played the new fifa demo. Will inevitably still get the game at some point but this is the first time since fifa 09 that I've actually preferred EA's offering.The commentary gets turned off after about a week for me, so it's not an issue.
