A mate who supports Liverpool texted me last night after Bernardo’s goal to ask why Tyler sounded so depressed.

Did you point him in the direction of his commentary of the 2014 game at Anfield?

I don't think so. Remember the 3-2 defeat at Liverpool in the slippy G season? You couldn't say City were dominant then, at that point we had won one title in almost 50 years and that had been by a hair's breadth. It was a big game, top two teams in the league against each other, Liverpool going for the title in the 25th year after Hillsborough, and when they scored twice in the first two half Tyler's voice reflected the drama of the moment quite superbly. The contrast with the flat reaction to City scoring two goals early in the second half could not be plainer, and was made even more plain when they scored a winner with 15 or so minutes to go.

Nice theory, but it doesn't fit the facts.

Watched it with the sound off yesterday, just listened now. When Bernardo scored Tyler said "wow" but it was the least excited wow in the history of the word, not so much an ejaculation as a small leak.

I pass Andy Hinchcliffe quite often walking his dog. The number of times I have felt like pulling up to him in the car and giving him a piece of my mind.
Then I realise , he is just doing his contracted job , just like Tyler.

Hinchcliffe was at City for the Everton game and was interviewed, he actually came across really well and said a lot of positive things sounding like a fan. I think he just wants to remain objective at Sky and sometimes overcompensates.

Tyler is a wanker and a biased one. He personifies the broadcasting bias against City.
