For months and months, McCain has been rattling on about Obama's lack on knowledge in the field of war. Laughing at the notion of 'sitting down with enemies without pre-conditions'. In fact McCain frequently used General Petraeus' name to this agenda.

Then General Petraeus said this...

Will the undecided voters finally believe Obama's path in 'change'? That McCain IS out of touch...? Obama's winning the economic fight and now he's surely supported by Gen Petraeus' quoted words on the war front, as well?

Interesting.

I wonder how many US news channels carried it?

I'm guessing none.

It wouldn't have mattered if they did, the votes that they need to win aren't going to come from those who actually keep themselves informed of the issues/policies, it's those who have no clue what politics is all about and just vote on their 'impression' of the candidate, "He looks trustworthy", "She's a good mum" etc etc. The general public can't be bothered to find out information, they are, in the main, lazy about such matters.

I suspect you're right Matty.

Watching a news report on a Palin/McCain rally. When the reporter asked why they were voting for them such illuminating answers as "because we don't want to be become socialist like the whole of Europe", and my fave one "because she's a hockey Mom".

Those pesky republicans.....
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a132410/osama-mix-up-affects-us-ballot-papers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" target="_blank">http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/odd/a132410 ... apers.html</a>

US presidential hopeful Barack Obama has been incorrectly named as 'Barack Osama' on hundreds of ballot papers sent out to voters in Rensselaer County, New York.

The misspelling appeared on about 300 absentee ballots which were mailed to the county's residents this week. Corrected versions will now be posted after the error was spotted.

Local election commissioners Edward McDonough and Larry Bugbee have released a statement apologising over the matter, insisting that it was the result of an honest mistake.

Speaking later in a phone interview, McDonough added: "It's human error, it's very unfortunate, it's an embarrassment to our office, obviously. We wish we could turn back the clock, but we can't."

Obama's spokesman Blake Zeff said he is "glad officials are working to correct this error and we assume it won't happen again".

Locals who were affected by the blunder have been told that they are free to use either version of the ballot when they cast their votes.

but that is not strictly true is it ? how anyone in the usa could even consider voting republican is beyond comprehension - they are having their worst recession in living memory , their buffoon of a president stumbles from one crisis to the next - the ill conceived knee jerk war on terror is costing billions of dollars and has no end in sight , the list is endless ? the reason is of course, people will vote for mccain to avoid their worst nightmare (ie. a black man in the white house absolutely no other plausible reason at all ) i know personally of people who are democrats and are racist therefore will vote for mccain - palin was a panic measure to try and soak up the hilary clinton voters , it seems from here to have backfired , however i for one would not bet against her and old father time winning next month .

Typically shortsighted and bullsh*t of you.

You could apply the same sh*t to anything, in this world. I take it your opinion came after watching an expose on Ohio, by CNN? No, wait, somehow I doubt it! Well, let me enlighten you.

Ohio is quite a Republic safehaven, these days, but with the high unemployment that has struck the area, it seems, people have turned away from McCain's policies and with REGRET, they seem to be falling on the side of Obama.

So, to mine eyes, I see it less about colour and more about better policies that look after those in need.

And, by the way, I posted the original YT clip as a matter of war policy that Gen Pet. endorses without OFFICIALLY endorsing. And, to me, if you can't get a Gen you've beenpraising to back you up, well then you're in real trouble!

McCain's direction along with Palin are not of this time. they are fighting Yesterday's 'playbook'/ campaign.

Is Morrissey running for them?

I don't see McCain catching up. Obama has a lot more money and is blitzing every major network. He even has his own 24 hour infomercial on a satellite channel.
