Good. More piss boiled...
Nah, that game coming up is just a coincidence. ;)Absolutely inevitable that we'll get some rotten decisions on Sunday now
It was always inevitable, even before we played everton.Absolutely inevitable that we'll get some rotten decisions on Sunday now
Yep slanders the referee live on tv with millions watching with no disrepute charge.
Wonder if he will apologise to the ref now that Everton have had theirs
Always liked Lampard but gone down in my estimation after this although he’s probably already been sucked into the whingeing whining outdated mentality of the club.
Hope they go down and end up staying there.
It has the hand of Bill Kenwright all over it. He is over-emotional and has shown poor judgement for decades which is the main reason Everton are in such a mess. I am sure he was the one pushing for a meaningless apology. Personally I think it was a diabolical decision but we have suffered plenty in the past and Pep has always used them to galvanise the team instead of whining about it. Self-pity is not a good look for any club which has aspirations to be successful.I don’t have any axe to grind with Everton. The gushing media coverage of their neighbours irritates most football fans so god knows how they put up with it.
But all this complaining is cringeworthy. Every team gets a bad decision (which Saturdays was) but to go running to the authorities is a little sad. However it got so bad for us in the 90s we never resorted to this.
What on Earth must the likes of Peter Read and Joe Royles Dogs of war etc think at this conduct.
Perhaps if their current team show a bit of backbone Everton might not resort to such antics.
Because there was the offside followed by a shot which bounced up and hit the arm. There’s no way it’s not the same phase of play.
from the rules:
For decisions/incidents relating to goals, penalty/no penalty and red cards for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO), it may be necessary to review the attacking phase of play which led directly to the decision/incident;
Spot onYes no penalty was given!
But the media are kicking up a storm to affect future decisions!
If it was offside we gained no advantage and they do not have a leg to stand on!
If this is not analysed they will always harp back to this incorrect decision when we get one against us. The old argument being things always even up!
Mark my words, a bad decision is coming our way, probably against Utd or Liverpool if this is not put to bed!
I am reasonably confident it is offside! And we have nothing to loose if it is not, as they (the media) have already made up their mind that it was an unjust decision!
What about when they complained and wanted an explanation from the FA when we had to cancel a match during lockdown? Didn't they want sick notes from our players (that was tongue in cheek)?Nothing against Everton complaining but they do actually have form for this. They complained so much after the Merseyside derby in 2007 at Goodison (and it did look like a proper bent reffing display to be fair with multiple big decisions going against them) that they managed to get Clattenburg removed from officiating their games for the next God knows how many years. That’s fine as I didn’t want Clattenburg reffing our games either but it shows favouritism to one club, while the reduction in the pool of available clubs meant all the rest of us had to put up with Clattenburg’s shit refereeing even more often!
Just because the referee's boss contacted Everton officials doesn't mean that there's an admission of error. This is implied by SSN but we already know that VAR did not review the Richarlison offside. They didn't get that far.
The media coverage is typical of how they cover Manchester City, and it just ratchets up the pressure on officials when they come to officiate in games involving Manchester City.
