His first touch is a bit iffy at this point of his development but he's fantastic at finding pockets off the ball and his decisions are really decent for a player his age. A lot of hard work ahead for him, but he definitely has the right attributes to develop into a solid #10.

I thought he found it hard to get in the game as initially Madrid pressed very well and let's not forget they had mostly their first team playing. Plus i suspect he was a little awestruck. Great experience for him though and will set him in good stead.

The kid played well considering its a massive step up from playing the rags in his first pre season game and then Real Madrid in his second. Fair play to him. Keep it up.

It was a very tight match in the midfield, very technical. With the 3 CBs and wing backs we played a very high line and really compacted the space. Foden seems to want to play in a really advanced position, which was to his advantage against United as he was getting behind them but was very difficult in this match as that area was collapsing rapidly if it were open at all. He may have been under instruction and it may just be his instinct, who knows, but he just didn't have the space to operate in and wasn't chasing the ball the way KDB or Silva does to go get it, turn, and drive the team forward. Which is, of course, totally OK. He's a kid and he may not even have license to do so if he wanted to. He wasn't bad, just quiet compared to last match.

He doesn't look out of place.

He hasn't made the step up to EDS yet so no need for a loan.

A few cup games and some mins off the bench at home in the PL (and maybe more if he takes to it) is on the cards, or should be, imo

Phil Foden vs West Ham

Thanks for this. Coz really I couldn't tell you how he did coz I could hardly tell which one was him. With him, Roberts, Diaz and Bernado all looking so similar on the ball and popping up everywhere. It was hard work figuring out which lefty just did what.

The only guys I could clearly identify were Sterling, Zichenko Mangala, and Dihno. Even Walker tricked me a few times when he went to the middle of the defense :(
