I think they give out the huge shirt numbers so that when they get lower and lower it's a sign of progression. Hence why our kids make their debuts with numbers in the 70's, 80's where most other clubs just give them numbers just outside the first team, 30's & 40's etc.

Don't quote me on it though, as I'm just remembering that from some video from years back when all the press got tours of the CFA.

Seems like Foden's mostly gone down because the new u18's are all in the 80's and 90's now though. Sancho is 48, Tosin is down to 24.

Good insight. Pep said it himself, it depends on the quality of the player. Looks like Foden's amazing quality has been known from a young age.

At worst a Stephen Ireland IMO. Personally reckon he's the real deal. Reminds me of Lallana and Wilshere at times, and Iniesta at others.
