Because he's committed himself to the club by signing a contract and appears to be a better player at the moment.
This.

Foden seems to be the real deal - capable of starting in our mid. Still not quite certain about Diaz.

Let’s not forget, Pep already helped make his dreams come true....a Premier League Winners Medal! Throw in the fact that Pep has got Southgate trying to play Pep’s way, and Foden looks like a starter and England shoo in in a year or two.

If I was Foden, I’d be learning everything I could from David, Bernardo, Delph, KDB, Mahrez, Sterling, Sane, Aguero and Fernandinho. He is an enrolled student in the best football university in the world....and he not only doesn’t have to pay tuition, but they will PAY HIM A KING’S RANSOM to shut up and learn.

Phil is going nowhere and he is racking up valuable experience(s), even when he doesn’t start in the big games.

Perhaps he would develop quicker if he spent less time on the bench.

Maybe. Maybe not. You gotta agree a Pep and his staff who sees Foden on a daily basis knows best? I trust the manager to know what is best for Foden. Doesn’t mean I’m not eager to see the lad starting games. I am actually.

Do you trust Pep to never make a mistake? I think he is a superb, manager probably the greatest ever. But I still think hes fallible occasionally.

anyone suprised pep put sterling in midfield and left Foden out, was it no worth trying Phil , even if first 45 mins was not good, plenty of time to make changes.all the calls say we looked unbalanced.foden doesn’t seem to me to be a liability, at worst he pr9bably wouldn’t try too much on his own and try to fit in.
I know we needed to qualify but is he really a liability that means we play peopl3 out of position.

Pep makes mistakes. But not when it’s about players and development. And as far as I know we never had a better rate with new players coming in plus the fact Pep made all his players better. Patience mate. Simple as that .
