Simply a very promising youngster..?
That's all Foden is at the moment because Pep is being so stubborn on holding him back. All that patronising bullshit bigging Phil up as the best talent he's managed at his age was bollocks.

We don't know how good Foden is until he gets regular starts in big games. Play the lad Pep FFS!

Bizarre. What Pep says and what Pep does are 2 different things.
I don't think playing Phil in a dead rubber CL changes this fact.

If Foden had been given more time off the bench or even a run of league starts, does anyone really think that we would be any worse off than we are now?
It's been a huge missed opportunity.
It could hardly be worse in context to what we expected, there has been a marked drop off of energy and effort and the later the most disappointing, the game v Norwich, an injury hit Norwich at that, was the wake up call that went unheeded.

Not one of those who cries "play the kids" like a Pavlovian expression after every setback, but genuinely felt he was hard done to on Saturday. the circumstances of the game and the opposition were crying out to try him.

That gundogan sub must have felt like a kick in the teeth. I couldn’t believe it

I am starting to get the feeling that we are being given lip service regarding Foden. So we are led to believe that he is ready, and that his time is coming. So he will now be played in a dead rubber CL game !!

The derby game in the 2nd half was crying out for his tenacity and work rate alone

Back in the 60/70's both City and the rags occasionally used the derby to give a debut to local youth players.
The game on Saturday was a perfect opportunity for Phil Foden to make his derby debut, he wouldn't have let the side down.
It would have given the crowd a huge lift if he’d been given half an hour at 0-2 down on Saturday.

We’ve got the slowest midfield in the country. DSilva Gundogan and Rodri have played a lot of minutes this season and they are a problem when any more than one of them play together in midfield. In two games (Norwich and Wolves) all three of them made up our whole midfield.

The frustrating thing is, despite our array of injuries this season, we have midfielders with great energy and fitness who have been fit all season. Fernandinho Bernardo and Foden have all been fit all season and how many minutes have any of them had in midfield in the Prem?
