Pep playing him a position he ain’t used to to learn he did fine.
His best skills are difficult to attribute to our system. A little like Kdb , kdb,s attributes of crossing from the right, of which he is brilliant , and also cutting in from the left to shoot , are difficult to put in a system. Similarly Foden is brilliant at receiving a ball, and turning, from the right of goal. Also running with the ball from the left..When played in certain positions these strengths are nullified. Similar as to when Bernado has to play wide.
But the needs of a pep team means certain players strengths are nullified.
As another poster said every game is a learning experience for Foden.
I thought he was disappointing today but need to judge him when playing in first 11 in his proper position.
When he has had a chance this season he hasn’t really made the most of it. Must difficult playing a few mins here and there though.
Difficult to stake your claim in an unfamiliar position, in a game that neither side wants to play.
Did ok, although should have squared his chance early on
Love him but he was poor today against Fulham. Maybe trying too hard?
Could be. Also simply doesn't get enough game time, can't play 3 games in a row then not play for a month, its a bit odd imo.
He was poor today. There've been a few games against Championship opposition where he’s just blended in with the average quality of the players across both teams.
I don't think he's ever going to impress on an individual basis when he's playing as a left winger. It's just not to his strengths.
He didn't have a great game anyway when he did drift inside but he still had a part to play in a couple of the goals and could have gotten himself a couple on another day with a little bit more luck. Just his passing and shooting was a bit off today.
He clearly loves every minute he plays and every goal his team score but I really think he impresses when he's trusted with more responsibility in the centre.
When was the last time he actually started a game in his preferred position?
