Barely got a kick of the ball first half. Better when he was moved in the middle. But it's 90 minutes in the bank that will help him in the long run. I'd have him in the middle for every remaining game this season.
 
Completely redundant in the first half, better in the second playing in his more natural position
 
Can’t help but feel the result will see him relegated to the bench again for the foreseeable. Hope I am wrong.
 
Ignored in the first half but a different class when moved in the middle. He struggled which gives management the reason not to play him for weeks but he was no worse than Rodders, Gundogen, Bernado and Sterling
 
Our wide players rarely play well unless the full backs support them. Cancelo and Zinchenko were both poor yesterday probably due to a lack of game time and Foden couldn't influence the game much. Once he shifted inside he was much better.

Pep made the right call rotating. Get the team on Wednesday to be more like the one that plays Real next Tuesday and then rest some for Burnley. This season gives us a great opportunity to bring through Foden whilst preserving key players for the CL. The draw could see a lot of the best teams on paper knocked out, depending how things go. In addition, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga are more competitive than usual and will not allow those sides to rest players like they usually do.
