PIccadilly Radio

James H and Dave Ward were the funniest thing on radio, but Mark and Lard later raised the bar.

I remember James H Reeve once introducing Becky Want (sexy Bexy) as the only woman who wears more make-up than Marcel Marceau.

Remember Susie Mathis playing back stabbers by the O'Jay's,when she got the arse. She wasn't bitter either, she couldn't let a show go by without mentioning the Paper Dolls, the band she was in.

THATS LONGWAVE

No it's not... first transmission was 261... I had a car sticker!!!
so what your saying is because you had a sticker that makes it what exactly?i think am replaced longwave but you could still get it on your radio dial.
Medium wave and long wave was replaced by AM

261 was Piccadilly Radio on the Medium wave (261 m)

Radio one was also on Medium wave once (247 m back in the day but also broadcast on LW too earlier.) <a class="postlink" href="http://frequencyfinder.org.uk/r1_transmission.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://frequencyfinder.org.uk/r1_transmission.html</a>

(yeah I know...geek)

because it was 261 MW....

It began broadcasting on 2 April 1974 as Piccadilly Radio on 261m (1151 kHz then) AM/MW

AM replaced LW? Nonsense... Still get both now...
