PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Thanks all for the comments. I feel it is not credible (especially as I have said it before), to dance around what happens if everything is proven. It is the key part of why I don't believe they will ultimately prove the allegations. And nobody can be in doubt as to the seriousness now post Everton if we are found to have breached these rules on a wholesale basis for a decade. I know it is not a good soundbite and yes this is a little naive but it is difficult to tread that line.
Great job Blue.
Always good having someone on our side who actually tells the truth.

Not sure if I’m wording this correctly but since the crux of the charges are essentially the same as the UEFA charges (which were obviously later overturned by CAS), why would it be so difficult to prove these allegations, when we’d been found guilty before?

Also, if found guilty, we wouldn’t be able to appeal it would we?

What’s the difference between the PL case and the UEFA one? Is there a different standard of proof needed?
If we are found guilty. The prem is calling some pretty big organisations into question and calling out someone for lying because that's what it ammounts to, is pretty damn serious shit. If, and there's that little word again we are found innocent, then some big players are for the chop in the FA. Just hoping the initials FA stands for fuck all in evidence.!!

As I said in another post on here today, well done to you, 'PBlue'' 'Petrusha' et al (so many of you!) for excellent and (yes!) objective analyses of how FFP has impacted upon our beloved club in all of its iterations, from UEFA to CAS and to the Premier League.

Just to add, my first reaction on hearing your comment regarding 'it ends in relegation' was, as with others, to think 'Oh.. there's the money shot for these venal media twunts..' and sure enough, they grabbed at it.

However, on reflection I think you were absolutely correct to do so.

At last, somebody has had the gumption to point out the actual seriousness and the likely consequences of what this set of PL charges is all about. I think it's a game-changing moment, when (if you'll pardon the analogy!) the little boy has now pointed out that Emperor hasn't got any new clothes at all. It really is out there now, as you and the others who've been posting have been saying so precisely and candidly on this matter for some time now.

As the younger posters on here often say, perhaps now the Premier League and all those who sail in the good ship 'Let's Screw City' will 'give their heads a wobble' and will realise just how dangerous all of this mess of potage is for everyone involved in English football? I'm not holding my breath but dare I hope common sense will prevail?!

Well done again!

Little nugget in there that always seems to get missed, is that we topped up from £8 million each year (if these allegations are correct).

That would be the best, best value for money sponsorship for kit, academy campus, stadium name over the years in question in sports history.

Stefan.

Nothing against you as you’ve posted plenty of useful and interesting information. You’ve helped City fans understand the complexity of the charges, etc. Thanks. But once again, the press, this time the Daily United, have created a headline that focuses on one part of what you said on Talkshite. And the Rags, Coach Wreckers, and City haters are loving it.

Typical and not one person didn't foresee that happening.

And

Stefan is very good and knows why more than I do

But he sounded also like he fitted into the world Jordan and the rest do

The one where the majority of us will never be

I want more of an aggressive stance but that’s why I am where I am
Maybe so, but he's got a legal background too, so I suppose he's used to the underhand tactics people try and use to derail the opposition. Maybe he was in lawyer mode, as much as we would have liked him to respond differently, he's trying to be super objective about this. I see the logic in that, without that he will be dismissed because of his links and who he supports but I don't think he was expecting them to do him so dirty and misrepresent his points by only taking the soundbites they like. They have little interest in objectivity as an organisation IMO.

While we are on the subject of objectivity. Simon was so desperate to pull Stefan up on something, that he corrected him by saying 'objective' and was comfortably smug with himself about it afterwards... Which is bad enough on it's own, it's petty and unnecessary when you know what they meant. He misspeaks himself a lot and he'd take it personally if someone did that to him. He'll even complain when someone interrupts him back... He has everything his way on that platform.

The thing is, having listened back to what Stefan said, I'm fairly certain he said "but someone that's objective" after all, it was Simon who misheard it because of how fast it was spoken.

Maybe it's just me though, what do you hear?:

Whopper either way.

Whilst most of us supporters blanched at the word relegation, I think the P.L.suits will see it differently, if they have any sense. To me the whole conversation was a wake up call to what they have potentially done. It's like they were a bullying neighbour threatening about a garden fence, and suddenly realising, the neighbour is a big multinational with more power influence and wealth than they had everdreamed of.
