PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No I don't. But he isn't putting it on hold. Not sure what that means?

it was business as usual in 2020, and we were innocent.

He's suggesting that the fact that we're investing in the ground/hotel is not an indicator either way and I'm inclined to agree.

Mancini wouldn’t save a penny on foreign income whilst a UK tax resident so there’s no benefit for him on that.

He will have had to declare the AJ income and pay tax on it within the UK anyway whilst living there.
Highly unlikely, as he will have been non-domiciled and thus eligible to claim the remittance basis of taxation.

So actually a fairly substantial UK tax benefit.

I don't think so. It was amended after a year or two to include any taxes due by him, so we paid it him grossed up (i.e. including the applicable tax). Might have saved him some tax but it wasn't a tax evasion arrangement.
I can’t remember who, but someone who worked with these kinds of things said at the time of the DS article that these kinds of arrangements were common for Italian footballers working abroad.

It was a contract with his business, so I don’t think what you’re saying isn’t necessarily true

Eg if his business was UK based, if he paid himself in dividends vs salary, he’d have been saving around 20% ish on corporation tax vs income tax

I stand to be corrected tho :)

And we will prove that we are innocent now as well, but I don't think our owner would stop investing in infrastructure even if the Premier League were to win.

Does anyone seriously believe that Simon Jordan has more of an inside track on how confident or not City are feeling than every City fan, especially those ITKs? Come on ffs! If there was any semblance of truth in what he said then it would've leaked out through other channels long before Jordan got hold of it and he'd be pretty much the last person to hear about it, not the first.
Jordan talks to people who despise our club and have been spreading poison about us for years. The same people who leaked that we would lose CAS. The same people who are competing with us commercially during the transfer window. The same people who want to undermine confidence in our club. Two of his best contacts are our worst enemies.

I know he knew Khaldoon prior to joining City so it's quite possible, although I've never seen evidence of one. .

The contract documents published by Der Spiegel date from him joining us, but a pre-existing contract with AJ would presumably be a significant mitigating factor.

It's impossible to Google now as it's an obscure story and all the keywords are taken by the 115 case.
Khaldoon and the Inter owner were very close due to business connections and the huge investment Abu Dhabi made in Italy. Khaldoon even has an OBE type award from Italy.
When the UAE started diversifying with sports investment, they did a joint thing with Inter during Mancinis time there. Inter Co branded an Academy, sent coaches to the UAE FA and Mancini was given a consultancy role with Al Jazira. This must have been around 2006 or 2007.
