There's charges for every season since 2008/2009. That in and of itself is insane. The level of breakdown in diplomacy that there needs to be for this to happen is off the scale. Yes, City have had a target on their backs for ages, but we still need to exist and co-exist in the PL. UEFA are a different kettle of fish, but at home we needed a much better tactic than "fuck the fuck off we're better than you and we've got more lawyers than you".

On an unrelated note, Soriano should go at the end of this season. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the PL investigations, all of this stuff has happened under his watch, and City have flown too close to the sun too many times in the pursuit of maximum commercial growth.

Or maybe we are standing our ground because we have nothing to hide rather than the so called "fuck the fuck off we're better than you and we've got more laywers than you" approach. Our owners have gone above and beyond to get Manchester City to were it is today, I'm not saying we are squeaky clean I'm not that naive to think that, No club is squeaky clean! Especially the so called "Elite" of football.

You make a very good point.

I always suspected our relationship with the PL was frosty, but this is glacial.

They didn't even do Soriano the courtesy of giving him the charges before giving them to the media and specifically to certain journalists. City have won 4 of the last 5 PL titles and that's how the league chose to handle it. That means we have absolutely no relationship of any real respect with the people running the league, and that's squarely at Soriano's door as he is the guy who sits in all those meetings.

I'd have no problem with a salary cap, if it was in any way practical. It's a salary cap that's linked entirely to revenues that's the problem. If the rags can only spend as much on wages as Wolves, bring it on.

I think any salary cap should be set at level that the poorest club can afford - Liverpool
