PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

My eldest lad married a Japanese girl and her mother came over on a pre-wedding visit to “kick the tyres”. She spoke little English and had an electronic translation device. Conversation was difficult. I asked her what sights she’d managed to see and she replied she’d been to Paris. I waxed lyrical for a few minutes about the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame etc while she looked at me, clearly fucking baffled. When I finished she just looked at me, shaking her her head and said “No - Buckingham Paris”
100% true. We still laugh about it now. Like an episode of “Mind your Language”

a few years ago Bredbury Blues took two coaches to Sheffield United - our coach got to Bramhall Lane nice and safely in time. When someone rang to find out what had happened to the other coach the report that came back was that their (wet behind the ears) driver had had just got them to Hillsborough...

I did West Ham away last game of the 2009/10 season with Reddish Blues. Got down to that there London in good time but when the driver came off the motorway into the city it took about another 2 hours to get there. Why? Because he banged in the wrong Green Street into the Sat Nav and we ended up in North London fighting through shit loads of traffic for miles on end. We weren't sure exactly where we were at first but the giveaway was looking out the coach window to see Arsenal fans heading to their game and pissing their sides laughing at us.

I dip in and out of this thread, so apologies if this has already been covered.

If I recall correctly from our other case against the Premier League we obtained a disclosure of Premier League emails. If there was something incriminating related to this case, how might it affect things? If say the Premier League were colluding with other clubs to bring about our charges, how might that impact the panel reviewing our case?

Is the panel's remit only confined to judging our case? If something unusual or untoward cropped up regarding the prosecuting party, what powers does the panel have to deal with it?
Might be wrong but only the evidence presented for the hearing an be used in an appeal so It would have to be something substantial to be used in an appeal as only procedure or matters of law can be appealed

When in Abu for the friendly in 2008/2009? we were told in the bar to get to the match early as the roads were a nightmare.

After a few Kilkenny's our Pakistani taxi driver arrived with zero English speaking ability so, we showed him our tickets and off we went (5/6 pints inside us so not really paying any attention).

He dropped us off at an empty road behind one of the stands, the floodlights were on so we were happy we were where we should be, we paid and got out.

Thinking fucking hell it's quiet and just walked inside through an open gate to find there was only the 3 of us there. I think it was the Al Jazira ground.

After having loads of time we were then stuck in the middle of nowhere and thumbing a lift/another taxi. We finally made it into the ground as the teams were coming out.

Last one from me on the 'wrong location sidethread' - look up Colwick Road, Nottingham - there are two! one of which is the road that approachs the away end of the City Ground. The other one got a shock last season as a 61 seater supporters coach was forced into a U-Turn at the entrance to their little residential street... ;-)

There’s 2 of my road name in Manchester, the correct one in the South, the wrong one in the East near M60/M67 junction.
So far , ‘kids’ coming back by taxi from town, have only got it wrong once - and even then they thought it was originally fine, ie exiting Manchester centre as quick as possible, and then use M60 to get to the South. Oops.

This on my old patch hence me smiling at the faux pas.

Off topic I know, but on the journeys issue, back in 1975 - I think it was after the scum were relegated - my best mate was a United fan and we used to go to matches together sometimes. Needless to say, he was a bit thick. I lived in Burnage, next to Kingsway where the 95 bus ran into town and beyond. We'd go and see reserve games sometimes, and even catch the 169/170 to watch Droylesden.

At lunchtime one Saturday afternoon, I answered a knock at the door and there he was as usual wearing his United scarf.
"Coming to the match?"
"What match?" I asked."United are away today, aren't they?"
"Yeah, but I want to see the reserves - Bobby Charlton's the manager at Preston, and if we get the 95, we'll be there in an hour."
He was a bit disappointed when I explained that the 95 went to Prestwich, not Preston.

I think we got the 95 into town anyway, and just did the usual pilgrimage to Stolen From Ivor and Justin's.

He was a good lad but thick as 2 short planks.
