Liked the bloke, think his name was James but we're talking early 2000s since we bought anything from there. Looked a bit like Jamie Oliver and remember him dropping the meat to ours on the Broomwood at Christmas. We had a steak from them the day we beat United 4-1 with the SWP goal
The two brothers run it now . Sam and Johnny . Right rum pair and both blues . I get the cut off`s from them weekly to feed my foxes !

It's had a couple of makeovers in my time. I hope they do it properly this time.

I don't remember it being marshes but I do remember Shopping Giant and Rumbelows and granada tv rentals shop.

D.E.R TV rentals too! I remember one year smoke coming out of the back of the tv on Christmas Eve about 15 mins before it was due to shut and being sent hot foot to the shop to see if the engineer was still there. He was a top bloke and agreed to come out and brought a back up tv with him in case he couldn't fix ours. He fixed it up but left the spare with us in case the other packed up over Christmas. We had a spare portable aerial so there was a TV at one of the living room for the grown ups and we had the spare at the other end for whatever we wanted to watch, it was a great Christmas!

Civic deserves a decent makeover so hopefully it'll get one.

It was as Woolco later, definitely Woolworths when I was a kid.
Different shops if memory servers. Woolco became Shopping Giant and Woolies was halfway down the precinct on the left. Was never the same for me after they dropped the name Leningrad Sq for that bit in front of the Forum

Never understood why Wythenshawe has a town centre when it’s just a suburb of Manchester.
It’s not just a suburb of Manchester, it’s by far the biggest suburb of Manchester.

Northenden, Didsbury, Chorlton, Levenshulme, Rusholme, Longsite, Harpurhey and other districts all have their own village or town centres. Altrincham, Timperley, Sale, Stretford, Urmston are the same in Trafford. Swindon and Eccles are the same in Salford.

Amazing they all played there. I got my parents tickets for Gene Pitney. Manchester is sadly lacking venues like this. One of the most popular bars in Tenerife is the Brahms and List. A compere and one or two top acts, packed every night.
The Chi-Lites, The Supremes, The Drifters, Shakatak, Odyssey, The Hollies, Roy Orbison, just mad mate, and that’s not even going into the top comedy acts they had on there.
