I agree Salah should win it, but I don’t anyone is in denial by claiming KDB should win it. After all, he has got the most assists and created the most chances in the league. It’s not just that, some of his passes this season have been a joy to watch.
100% spot on that.Since the takeover everybody (FA, UEFA) has done whatever they can to stop City from winning. Awards voted on by so-called experts are the last chance they have to make sure teams with ‘istry continue to win things. If Mo was a City player and Kev was having his season for Liverpool there wouldn’t be a debate, KDB would be the PoTY and Mo would be a one-dimensional poacher.
It’s amazing how perception becomes fact on some of these threads when bias is trying to be demonstrated. As many have already stated, The Media do not vote for POTY, it is voted for by the players. Giggs won it once, in 2008/09 and played 47 games that season. The Football writers award has never been won by Giggs and the last rag to win it was Rooney in 10/11.
Whilst the manager of the year award is seems of an anomaly with city and PL wins, the Manager of the year award is voted for by the LMA and is voted by all 92 managers and is often won by a manager of a team that didn’t win the PL. Ferguson only won it 4 times. Wenger won it twice, the same as Steve Coppell and David Moyes. It has also been won by Dave Bassett, Roy Hodgson, Alan Curbishley, Dave Jones, Danny Wilson, George Burley and Eddie Howe. So not many PL winners in that lot.
The only questionable one would be the annual divisional manager of the year awards which are voted for by a ‘panel’, as that is the one where you usually win it if you’ve won the title. Only 3 times that hasn’t happened was once with Ferguson and the 2 City wins.
