Player of the Year: KDB v Salah

Is it player of the year or player of the season?

Salah would have a decent claim for player of the season but not player of the year.

Debate is beginning to rage on this one, so I have a question...

How pissed off will you be when salah inevitably steals it from our kev?

Water off a ducks mate............when you see how Sergio has been overlooked season after season its no longer a shock and no longer angers me. Player wears a City shirt and no matter what they do what they win it doesn't register. As has been said Kev can wear his PL winners medal to Salah's winners party and ask if he wants to see what one looks like as close as Salah will get to one at the Dippers.

This.

Someone said about two weeks ago that the voting had already taken place.

If that’s the case, I think KdB will win it, as Salah has only really come into serious consideration since then.

Salah will win it because of the timing of the vote and the fact that a lot of footballers are thick as fuck.
It’ll be a travesty that Kev doesn’t win it but we can add it to the very long list..

With the number of goals he’s scored from midfield, I’d say “well done Salah”.

Kev will remain the more valuable player of the two, imo, but there’s no denying Salah has had a phenomenal season.

he doesn't play in in a traditional midfield setting though. He is part of an attacking front 3 and not (like Sane) spending a pot of the gameout on the traditional wing but more on tge edge of tge box in goalscoring positions.

So a forward in reality 28 league goals and 7 assists

Kev 7 goals and 14 assists

Number of goals shouldn't be a factor anyway, but total impact on season, and kev has had a bigger impact.

As a Blue, I wouldn’t argue too strongly against this. Kev has had a phenomenal season too and I’d have him in my side over Salah. Over the longer run, KDB is the bigger asset.

But goals do talk loudly and I wouldn’t begrudge Salah the award.
