I imagine this stems from Steven Gerrard last game at Clanfield.
A feat that we will see less and less in the modern game.
I even got a little bit choked up watching the post game scenes yesterday.
As far as I can see, there is no one left who can claim the same one club player status like he has. And it is a real shame that for the foreseeable future, we wont have a player like this. It's indicative of the money in the game and the pressure on clubs to have to go and sign the new super star.
In that respect, if I had one player I would have liked to start his career and retire with is, I would probably have to say SWP.
