As you may have noticed, these have all been moved to a separate subforum. It's just on a trial basis for now, but we'll see how it goes. It felt a bit like the forum was becoming dominated by player "megathreads" (and the inevitable arguments they provoke), at the expense of other discussions.

Only comments about their actual performances should go in there, anything else about the players (e.g. injuries, transfer speculation etc) can have separate threads in the main forum.

As always, any feedback (positive or negative) welcomed. Cheers.

Good idea, the mega threads always end up with 5 different topics being discussed at once.

Already too many separate boards.

Main board, transfers (understandable), history, player performance.

Where does it end?

There aren't enough active posters on here to justify it imo.

Some great threads on the history forum don't get the views or comments they deserve mainly because not as many people go on there.

Yeah, that's fair enough. The history (and maybe even EDS/Academy) forums could possibly be integrated into the main forum now.

Thought that about the history forum for a while now.

Notifications of posts in performance threads are still showing as being in the main forum as well @Ric

I agree with that. Its ridiculous that discussing events about the clubs history is relegating to a sub-folder people rarely view and yet some inconsequential comment by a bitter hack receives pride of place in the main forum.

I added a thread mths ago about alternative matches of the 90s and it was great to read other peoples memories until the mods chucked it into the history forum to die a slow and painful death.

Personally I think the player threads should stay in the main forum. There popular because people want to discuss them and if the players performance is not central to the club then I do not know what is. What is worth discussing on the forum?

Good idea in the way that it gets rid of the 200+ plus page threads that discusses more than the thread title suggests that's all over the main forum.

Bad idea in the way that we have quite a few sub-forums now...many clubs forums will just have a main forum discussing their club, a general football forum and an off topic section...a lot don't even have a match day or transfer section in fact but I think that's a good idea that we should keep them naturally as it's less pressure on the main board.

I think the academy one should stay separate - there's not a huge amount of active users there and if it gets merged with the main forum he threads will get buried in a couple of days.

Is it only me that wonders why we've got a 'History' forum?
