Player thread: Pablo Zabaleta (2014/15)

Re: "Oh Pablo Zabaleta..."

I was gutted when Argentina got beat. Almost felt like City had got beat, but the positive side to this is that Zabaleta, Demichelis and Aguero are going to be very motivated this Summer.

Should make the players stronger and determined to make next season count

Aguero in particular has to get some proper pre-season training under his belt. Had he been fully fit, Argentina would have won the World Cup. He'll know that.

Why can't we sing.....

Ohhhhh Pablo Zabaleta he is a CITY Man

He is an Argentinian ......

Why "he is a F***ing man"?

Why the swearing?

Sounds better, scans better and the kids can join in....

Old fuddy duddy know, but when it ain't necessary let's drop the expletives eh?

Edit: Oh and I bet if Zabba had a say he'd rather be known as a City Man rather than a F***ing man!

Have a father and his young son sitting behind us, so I ALWAYS sing "City" instead. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks there is absolutely no need for the language in one of our most popular songs.

And, to those people who think it is a "football match, not a kindergarten" I would politely suggest that the future of this club, and the money that will provide for it in that future DEPENDS on the young FANS of TODAY (like the kid sitting behind me in a premium seat).

I wonder what the fans would do if Sheikh Mansour asked us not to swear in our fan songs or he will spend his money elsewhere and return us to the brink of bankruptcy again for another generation? He is not in this for his health!!

My first game was in 1981..I was 8 years old and it never did me any harm..

The world is sanitised enough these days without me having to mind my tongue at the football

I have no idea if it did you any harm or not, nor should that be the high water mark for what passes for decent behavior around children. I've seen a few young uns get a good kicking and stand up and walk away afterwards. Maybe I should give him a good kicking, too?

You do what YOU think is appropriate, I'll do what I think is appropriate in front of another man's young son. That's not to say I've never inadvertently sworn in front of a child before, but I don't generally sing "fuck" in songs to them for the"fun" of it.

Good luck to you.

Rubbish. The 'F' word has its place, but certainly not in celebratory songs. City are showing the world we are all about how a modern Football Club should be run....with CLASS and DIGNITY throughout.

Another thing..... it's like drugs. The more it is used, the less powerful it gets. What are we going to do....invent a new word when F*** doesn't mean anything any more?

I've got a solution for you, all you have to do is make up your own Zabaleta song without the swearing then get it more popular than the current one. Problem solved.
