The all important opening goal in our final game of the season when we needed to win to win the League.

I'm not saying he doesn't contribute. If you read the post match comments in the Stoke and Newcastle games I had him down as man of the match but against Liverpool and tonight he was absolutely dire.

Great players don't have as many average or poor games as he does.

I'll throw the cup final goal against Sunderland into the equation as well. He has a lot less poor/average games than people make out, and many more decent games than he gets credit for. He's a bit of a whipping boy imo.

Come on HG if you had a car that only started 3 times out of 10 you'd get shut. Nasri sums up so much about the modern footballer who think they are so freakin great but seldom deliver it. They are vastly over rated because of a handful of games. My neighbours Jack Russell keeps the ball pretty good as well doesn't make him a premiership wannabee.
If we listed Nasri who would come in for him that are challenging us??

He's a myth, always has been; supremely talented footballer but not nearly effective enough. He's a peacock.

His five decent seasons a season don't justify his presence at the club. He's a mercenary gobshite and that was reflected by key members of the France squad requesting he wasn't taken to the World Cup.

We need all the resources we can this summer to rebuild the squad, and £15m+ for him would good business.

He can be a bit of a hot head but I have no quarrels over the cheap shot he took against Neymar. The barca players were going down far too easily for me and although it may have not been the most composed way to respond, at least he shoWed some fight. He's a great competitor and unlike the majority on here, I really don't think he went missing tonight. I think the sub was purely strategic and also a way avoid a second yellow... Too many of you are jumping the gun imp. No way we get rid of him this summer and de Bruyne is not at all an improvement. Argue with me all you like, by If de Bruyne looked average in Chelsea's squad last year there's no chance he'll walk into our first 11 next season.

Agreed. He's one of our highest quality players, and can work real magic in midfield with Toure and Silva - he plays well when the team is playing well.
Maybe he just needs a change of manager...

The referee made a mistake by not sending him off and you have no problem with what he did? Amazing.

I'd prefer him to show some "fight" with the ball.

A last 16 champions league team (at least) would take him IMHO
He's a talented player we should be looking to get the most out of. Pellegrini needs to start using his renowned man management skills

I respect your opinion but there's a fair few on here that don't agree and after tonight i think that number will grow.

Just to prove it's not a knee jerk reaction, i put up the post below only 4 weeks ago when people were putting him forward for captain, i got pulled through the coals for posting it but the way things are looking it could soon become reality after tonights performance along with activity behind the scenes

Sulks like a kid when things aren't going his way, which isn't the best material when the chips are down and you look towards your leader for inspiration.

He'll be lucky to be a regular in the first team next season, let alone captain?

Nasri is as we can all see talented but extremely lightweight mentally. Why we have alienated Jovetic who offers an infectious enthusiasm when he plays?

I will be extremely pissed off if Nasri is here and Jovetic isn't next year.

Think it's going to have to be the night of the long knives.

Unless we play Yaya in the no 10 role can't see any point in keeping him. He is no longer fit for purpose as a midfielder.

Dzeko and Kolarov would make up my 4 to go.

Before I get slated can I just say that I am a massive Samir fan.
However, for some reason and we can blame who ever we feel fit, playing him on that right hand side does not suit his style of play.He is far more effective on our left with David and Yaya, irrespective of who is in a supportive role with him.
He was not alone tonight in a somewhat piss poor first half,as most midfielders were, but by the same token we have to make allowances as to who the opposition were.
Kick my arse but I felt more sorry for Fernandinho than anyone else as at least he put a decent shift in !!
I also felt that we had a lot more urgency once we had a natural right winger come on and take a full back on.OK he`s not one and alls favourite but Navas had both the balls and the effectiveness to have a go at trying to give our only forward an opportunity of an attempt at goal.
