Really struggling to understand why Eli has such a fan club here. Awful today in the first half. He's strong, quick, doesn't shirk responsibility, but his reading of the game is atrocious. To win the prem this year, it has to be Vinnie and MDM in ALL the big games.

Mangala has been excellent in arguably our hardest or biggest 3 games. Chelsea, Bayern & ROMA. Other than that, you have a point.

Ha, brilliant

Played well again today. A couple of nervy moments with him and Dedryk just after they scored but apart from that he played well again.

Re: Mangala

Considering the backline in which he was employed was alien to each other, add the fact one of them was kolarov......and I think he did a fine job, again.

Mangala is another player with a great attitude and appetite,we cant have enough of those.

Re: Mangala

It appears that, regardless of how Eli plays, he can do no wrong in many people's eyes. He was dross today for 45 minutes. For the other 45 he had nothing to do. It is obvious he has talent, but he's not ready yet. Not by a long shot. Any other conclusion on what we've seen so far is just wishful thinking.

Jenas doesn't rate him, the fact that he was covering for the ambling back towards the half way line Kolarov, isn't mentioned.

Match of the day highlighting Mangala out of position for the first goal today, utter bollocks the fact Kolarov had gone walk about upfield and made no attempt to get back leaving Mangala totally exposed wide out had fuck all to do with it then!!

Also totally disregarded the fact that
Boyata strayed too deep and played the lad onside.

Pundits are often little better than pub fans: they hear an opinion and adopt it as their own. We had it with the victimisation of Demichelis last season and this season it's mangala.

You're joking, right. Mangala has no problem if he sees what's going on. That goal was another example of his lack of awareness of what's going on around him.

Objective observers can see this guy's weaknesses. it doesn't mean he won't improve or that he's a waste of money. Just that he's some way to go before he's a top class centre half
