Happy to let our manager decide how important Jesus is to the team rather than geezers on Bluemoon.

I don't think I've witnessed a player quite as underrated by his own fans as our Jesus Navas. What I think a lot of fans don't get is that he is a genuine out and out right midfielder, a dying breed of player these days. He always looks to move forward as quickly as possible and by hugging the touchline he gives silva a lot more space to work with. Yes he doesn't do the Adam Johnson ten step overs before beating his man and doing fuck all with the ball and yes he can't shoot for shit but the job he does for the team is vital regardless of whether he's starting games or coming off the bench. There is also a myth that he can't cross which I think is down to a lack of movement and options in the box, he amazingly plays much better when we play two up front which is obviously no coincidence. He works as hard as anyone just without the praise James Milner got for doing the same amount of work. Our new man KDB may shove him out our best 11 but I think navas deserves far more praise than he gets from city fans

There was two lads behind us this afternoon who slated the lad from start to finish. I know you pay your money and therefore have the right to voice your opinion but screaming "fuck off Navas you useless fucking twat" every time he touched the ball wouldn't appear in any list of motivational techniques I've ever seen.

Totally agree.
I think it's ultimately frustration because we expected / hoped for so much more from him, but in reality he's not offering a great deal more than Johnson did! (imo).
I want every City player to do well, but at the same time, I believe he'd be considered one of the weaker players in our team.
There's no point in getting on his back though. It's never helped anybody. His forté is pace and getting a cross in. We're not generally a counter attacking team, so miss out on much of his pace.

I feel for the lad, but if we're looking to continually improve, he must know he needs to improve to avoid being usurped.

Apart from the miss did nowt wrong today
Yes.. But that miss is exactly what is wrong with him. Yes he provides us with width, yes he tracks back well & offers protection to the fullbacks.

His problem is his composure & final ball/finishing. He simply isn't good enough to be in an elite team starting 11. Look at Barca, Messi/Neymar/Suarez, or Real Ronaldo/Benzema/Bale or Bayern with Costa/Lewandowski/Robben (not to mention Muller) - they all have world class players in the front 3 spots. We have Sterling (doing great), Aguero & Navas.

Navas simply isn't close to any of the players above in terms of ability on the ball; & don't get me wrong I'm not saying Sterling is yet either but his potential is clear to see & the obvious hope is he will develop into that sort of level, whereas Navas is almost 30.

That is where KDB comes in; Sterling/Aguero/KDB is far closer in my opinion to the other top guys as an attacking trio.

This isn't me hating on Navas, I certainly think he has a role at City, for me though it's from the bench - his pace & work rate are great features for helping close down a game whilst giving pace for the counter when brought on as a sub. I just feel some people are too "he's shit & shouldn't ever play for us" whilst others are "his work rate is great, he deserves to start" - I'm more in the middle, he does a job for us well but simply isn't world class.

If Navas had better finishing, decision-making in the final third and passing in the final third he'd be a very good player. His pace is electrifying and his overall movement is very good too. I was so angry at that miss today though.

He's clearly lacking confidence in front of goal, but the shit he gets is way out of proportion. He keeps the side balanced and his work-rate is immense. He will lose his starting place to De Bruyne, but he will still be a valuable squad player.
