Navas is far from a shit player, ok so he lacks composure when through on goal but he offers so much more than people accept, he always tracks back and covers for Zabba. He offers us width which we need when teams ark the bus and he gives us pace. The fact that Pelle has played him in the vast majority of our games tells us something.

Thank you - sense at last

Correct, but that's one almighty massive IF.... which as it happens didn't materialise. So we're not going nuts about how he bombed through held off two players rounded the keeper and scored and won us the game....

Instead we're reflecting on another crap finish that could quite easily have cost us two points!

So your saying an If is worse than a could have.

What do people expect from him? OK, it was a piss poor finish, but it's happened to the best. Yep, his crossing is sometimes off, but he does get some right. However, he works his socks off and he frightens the fuck out of defenders. We paid £17m for him, and by today's standards that gets you a decent, middle of the road player, and I think Navas is more than performing to the £17m price tag.
I know its a 'trivial difference' but I thought we paid about 15m?

I really can't believe the grief he gets. His defensive contribution is massive, he is a fantastic offensive outlet, he creates chances- lots of them. His attitude is brilliant. He cost £17m. Yesterday he ran significant distance more than any other city player.ffs please can we get behind the guy fellow blues. I also thought his chance wasn't as easy as everyone thinks. He was moving at tremendous pace and it is easy when moving at that pace to become unbalanced. Jeez it's only a week or so since Sergio completely miss kicked an easy chance against Watford - these things happen!! Cut the guy a bit of slack and recognise his contribution. Rant over. Feel better:-)

He's a good role player who usually plays his role well. He has really good pace and doesn't lose the ball but his finishing isn't good at all. In some games, he can be an asset but in others he doesn't make much of an impact.

Same as any player on the pitch. He does more good than harm, that's why he is playing as much as he is

Again, a well reasoned post. The guy needs his confidence back, that is all.

I think I'll trust MP's opinion of our Jesus' ability & value to the team rather than the "expert" opinions of some posters on here........

He missed a chance he should have scored, but again, if he hadn't been playing there might not have been a chance anyway, as he has the pace & the desire to make that run. His general play was excellent & he played an important part in us winning the game.

What we should be doing, is teaching a couple of the quickest kids to operate the way Navas does, then eventually, we wouldn't need him. But right now, we do. He was a real tough opponent for Palace in that game, all over the pitch. Compare him to Memphis Depay yesterday for instance.
