I just can't view him in such a positive light. Sure there is all the back tracking, covering, running and pace. But for me that just shouldn't be enough for a starting place in the future. Not the way he is or plays within the final third of the pitch. I'm not even talking about the missed chance or the crosses that hardly ever make it past the first defender, or the exact same move he makes when taking on a defender. No, for me it comes to a boiling point when make simple pass to Sagna who's making a supportive run past you. Multiple times the pace Navas himself had generated died because Sagna had to scramble to go and get a pass placed too far behind by the blue eyed Jesus. That's killing your own jive and in such a basic situation.
I hope and trust that he will be a sub in the future. In games where the opponent has someone very dangerous coming up against Sagna I can understand him starting. Not sure if he needs to start against Juve, that depends on who's fit enough to play without risk.
On the fence about West Ham and Payet. Payet is an interesting and very skilled footballer. However at home we should look to be positive...
Yeh, I know he's gonna get many starts because Pellegrini likes him. Hence I will be prepared for many facepalms, some praise but mostly facepalms. :D
