The lad is so fast he's at the byline before anyone even knows what happened, a pull back or cross across the goaline is often the only thing left to do.
Considering we were crying out for a right winger when we signed him, and it felt like the second coming because of that, i think he does ok, he must be a nightmare to play against and his heart is in the right place.

I agree. There was one occasion last night when he broke down the right and hoofed a high ball into the danger area only to find no City players in the box.
We don't have a six yard box 'sniffer' imo. Aguero is a great player who happens to score loads of goals rather than a proper 'goalhanger'. Someone like Ian Wright would get loads from Navas.

He hits it straight at defenders. Could he be coached to get the ball over or round defenders? We'd need the best for that - the one-trick pony himself! It would almost be worth resurrecting the Welcome to Manchester poster...

He's no way near as bad as half the people on this board and media would have you believe.

Granted, he needs to improve his final ball. But he also brings a hell of a lot to the side and enables us to play at the tempo we do, especially on the break. He also frees up space for the likes of Silva, Kun and KDB, while giving the side width that we miss so much when Silva and Nasri play in the same team.

His work rate is second to none, he never complains and is pretty injury-free. Overall a top squad player.

Navas is 85% of the way to being an awesome player. I know he is no spring chicken but surely he has the potential to improve with some focused coaching and (hopefully) confidence from a few good games in a row?

He seemed to have improved against Sunderland (or maybe they are just shite?) so hopefully this is a positive sign.

I think it is likely that at least one of Silva/Sterling/KDB will be injured or in need of a rest for every game this season so Navas, Nasri and Roberts are likely to regulars. Of the three of them Jesus seems to make our system work the best.

Top post this OB - wish more of our supporters could see a bigger picture once in a while. It seems a lot have become instant critics in the past few years with a lack of patience as much as anything else. Now, onto that Aguero bloke.........

Coincidence Spain have became a bit shite compared to how they were? Probably. But it's a strange one. He'd offer even them something different, why he's ignored when the team are (by their standards) struggling a bit is beyond me.

Buy a Nasri type player and the game slows down again. We wanted sterling for ages to have pace and a direct approach on each side so I assume that's still the case. If so, then who's available that's as good as or better than Navas that's a similar type of player?

Karim Bellarabi.

Jesus Navas is not god awful by any means. But here's the thing... MCFC aspires to be the best football club in the world, bar none. To give us the best chance of achieving this, we should have world class players (or nearly world class) at every position, a world class manager, and a world class front office.

My objection to Navas is that he is not world class. Not by a long shot.

Navas would be valuable to the club as a supporting role player - providing backup and depth. But as a first choice player included in our starting lineup on most occasions, he is a liability because with a world class player in his place we'd be scoring a lot more goals.

I agree with you that he is not awful, in fact he is far far from it. After that, I find your post is all very subjective. We need the best team which IMO doesn't necessarily mean the best 11 players in the world.

As for calling him a liability, give over!

He is not the worst player ive seen at City but takes one touch too many imo
