He came over to give his shirt to a youngster in the crowd..... that youngster and her sister are my granddaughters!! He was determined that they would get the shirt even pushing the stewards out of the way to make sure the girls got the shirt. Nice gesture and as some will remember I have been one of his harshest critics but that was great. (& I would have said so even if they hadn't been my granddaughters.)
Saw that, stewards seemed determined to hold him back! Pleased for your grandaughter.

Have to laugh that the serious discussions going on this morning on Sky Sports above Sterling's finishing - he had TWO chances and didn't score, burn him! Yes, he could have finished the one on one but that was just one moment, keeper did ok too to be fair. A few more weeks getting sharpness back and working with the likes of Aguero and Bony, and he'll be banging them in. If we didn't think he could achieve that level of finishing we'd never have bought him - he is exactly the kind of player we need when we get drawn against Barca this year again - quick break after absorbing their pressure, and in the back of the net.

Because of the way Sterling can split a defence with his runs, for half an hour at the end of every training session he should be made to practice one on ones

I agree. He had a half decent first game and the future looks good but you'd have liked a 44m pound player to put that chance away wouldn't you.

Not against Joe though. He's excellent at one and ones, don't want to knock the lads confidence. He'll be just fine. His directness and positioning make Silva even more dangerous. If De Bruyne is to replace Navas we'll be deadly.

Of course against Joe. So you want him scoring every shot against Richard Wright, but then shitting himself when against Manuel Neuer?

Sterling didn't ask Liverpool to price him at £44m, the main thing for me last night was that he got into good positions, the goals will come, it's not as if he never scored for Liverpool.

I think he'll eventually become a good finisher with time. Not a World Class one like Kun but a 20-30 goal player. His movement is just too good, always gets himself into great positions.

Why were the west brom fans booing him? Did he turn them down before he signed for us? Think it's going to be a tedious season of people booing him and making him out to be some type of pantomime villain.

If we had a player on the opposition team visit the Etihad that's upset the bin dippers as much as sterling has im sure he'd get 90 minutes applause followed by a 2 hour marathon Poznan after the game to show our appreciation of pissing such a horrible self important club like candle pool
