I didn't like him at Liverpool , didn't like him when he played for England , then we signed him, I have tried to have an open mind and give the lad a chance but I still cant take to him, hes still got time if course but I honestly despair at some of his displays, he needs to beef up get some gym work done, learn to shoot properly and try not to lose the ball so often.. the one thing I will admit though is.. hes better than me

You're on the left wing. Then you face the goal and run towards it. What foot do you hit it with?

I mean this is basic fucking stuff ffs

He doesn't turn and face the goal until he's at the byline, though - then he gets dispossessed by the defender.

Far from a concern for us at the minute giving that in 21 games he's scored 7 and assisted 5 at 20 years old, the way our team looks recently we need to address the defending and central midfield first, I don't even think we have a first team defensive coach!

yep, those stats dont have look decent for a 20 yeard old lad playing on his weak side.
Do hope the majority of City fans continue to get behind the lad and not add to the heavy- weight smear campaign from the media.
Its always important to take into account the age of talented players, and not put too much pressure on them.encourage them, dont seek to drain their confidence.
Chelsea did that with KDB and missed out on the stack of goals and assists they could have done with this season.
Sterling is a very talented player with the ability to terrorize any defence, pretty much like my fav ever player Paul Lake when he played in an attacking midfield role ,but even he struggled with his consistency and certainly was not capable of scoring 1 in 3 and assisting five at the age of 20.
Sterling is now one of our own.get behind him.The lad is trying, and is proving much more effective than our other diminutive, pacy winger who plays on his stronger side and has 10 years of senior football behind him.

Give the lad a break.

There have been plenty of games where he hasn't been anywhere near good enough, but in the context of yesterday he really isn't the problem.

That's fair enough and his stats on paper look good for a 20 year old. Taking his age out of the equation though, and bearing in mind 3 of those goals came in one game, he only has 2 goals in 20 games. We don't receive bonus goals or points for fielding a 20 year old. At the end of the day, he is a ludicrously poor finisher. On the other flank we have Navas, who hasn't scored for 50+ games. Those two are taking up two attacking positions on our pitch yet provide a very minimal goal threat.

If we are aspiring to be at the level of Real, Barca, Bayern etc, we can't be making allowances for such profligacy in front of goal, regardless of how old he is. The sheer amount of sitters missed by him this season is utterly mind blowing. I've never seen anything like it.

I think you ment to say 4 goals and 5 assists in 20 games not 2 goals, the difference between sterling 2 years ago and last year was clear to see because of the differing team he was playing in( without Suarez and sturridge etc) our squad has looked so thin for the last 2 months it's almost the same thing we are expecting him to win us games on his own at 20 years old...... Am I the only one thinking before he signed when all the pool fans said he was shit last season and we defended him by saying look who he was playing with, finding myself now thinking you tits are now slagging him off for the same thing when we have had all our best players injured around him lately, give the kid a break.
