Massive overreaction once again. Forget the price tag, the lad is 20 years old and still raw. He's got a lot to learn still and was never gonna put 8/10s every week, there isn't a 20 year old on the planet who does.

Pellegrini's tactics don't help either.

His development is way below where it needs to be to be staring in the team when we have a full deck. I actually even prefer Navas to him at the moment.
Where would you expect his development to be? I'm sure you're taking into account he's being asked to play a different role altogether than he was at Liverpool? He was basically told to go out and play his own game under Rodgers whilst we want him to be more conservative in his play.
He's a young lad trying to cope with all that entails in a record move from the countries media sweethearts to the club ruining football.
He's doing ok.

7 goals and 5 assists so far I'd say that's about right for a 20 year old. Dunno why you prefer Navas when he's only got 3 assists this season and hasn't scored a goal for about 2 years.

I think you ment to say 4 goals and 5 assists in 20 games not 2 goals, the difference between sterling 2 years ago and last year was clear to see because of the differing team he was playing in( without Suarez and sturridge etc) our squad has looked so thin for the last 2 months it's almost the same thing we are expecting him to win us games on his own at 20 years old...... Am I the only one thinking before he signed when all the pool fans said he was shit last season and we defended him by saying look who he was playing with, finding myself now thinking you tits are now slagging him off for the same thing when we have had all our best players injured around him lately, give the kid a break.
At £50m he should be a match winner. So what if he is 21. He's not 11.

I don't think people are actually aiming the criticism at sterling. Its not his fault he was so expensive. It's more a frustration that the club have parted with £50m for a player who may or may not go on to be world class, whilst failing to strengthen the midfield.

Look at the other high profile signing at the swamp for a young lad of similar standing than Sterling. He has 3 goals and 1 assist. I don't hear the media slating him, more that he needs time to develop and settle. Sterling has done ok, not great but he has a decent impact on the side at times and at other times has struggled, but who hasn't this season.

Forget about cost it's not coming out of your pocket. look at the 10+ years we will get out of him, his performance away at Seville shows all you need to know about how good he is...

I could tell this was going to be a ridiculous post at '£50m'.

Are you prone to going along with media stories? He cost us £41m, that's £9m difference!!

Secondly, let's go off your over exaggerated prices again. United signed a young lad this season for £60m. He's playing a similar role to RS yet he's only got 3 goals and 1 assist - but he's being tipped as the next big thing. It's incredible what a media spin can do!

I genuinely think our fans a clueless about certain things - one of the main one's is their hated players list. Everyone seems to despise Sterling, I just really don't get it.

This is a young lad who nearly threw away his career to join us. He gives EVERYTHING on the pitch every game and has been one of our stand out players so far this season. He's English, he's won that golden boy award that only the very best seem to win. But because he cost a large sum and our scouse loving media's portrayal of him, every man and his dog seems to hate him - how small minded can you get?!

Remember when United bought Ferdinand for £30m and everyone was shocked - do you think they regret that now?

In 10 years time, when RS has been part of a team that's won all sorts of trophies no one will bat an eyelid at the price tag.

The funniest part of it all is it's the same fans who complained about Navas not running at players enough who are crying their eyes out because Sterling gives away the ball a few times a game!

....'But, but, he cost £50m though, at liverpool he was the best player in the world, now he's not good as Ibe. We should have bought Aaron Lennon'. Give you're heads a wobble!

He was bought because he is homegrown and has the potential to be a top player ala Walcott, he will never reach worldclass status and i don't think management expect him to.
Problem is we are relying on him due to our freaky injury record to our creative players this season, without Silva and Nasri we are a lesser force .
