Not ideal but I'll take that considering i was waiting for numbers like 6 and words like "month".
We can handle that if we don't shit ourselves.

Me too ... since the injury i've resigned myself to Kun being out for the rest of the season. This way if he does come back in the month it'll be like a brand new signing for me! :)

I think we can handle anything up to 6 weeks ok, its a big relief thats all it is if thats confirmed. Hopefully he doesn't lose all his match sharpness and brings him back for a difficult run of games in Jan.

Better qualified are you?
If you knew about knee ligament injuries surely you would appreciate that a lateral collateral injury is pretty serious, often associated with posterior-lateral corner injury and Posterior Cruciate ligament rupture. Worse than an Anerior Cruciate injury by miles!

Rarely seen. Did you get that from physio.com?
Nope
I do this for a living.

Yeah. Me too. How often have you seen a postero lateral corner injury?

If you re watch the injury when the physio and doc came on the first thing they did was test his Cruciate ligaments with the anterior and posterior drawer test.

This has a fixed end point and there didnt appear to be any laxity. There is no way he would have been permitted to walk. They then did a quick McMurrays to rule out a meniscus injury - given the fact that sergio could also fully extend his knee and stand further rules this out.
I
I'm thinking medial collateral ligament.

We will soon see I guess.
Seconded
My money on MCL strain or partial tear

So for us mere mortals, how long does it mean he is likely to be out based on the above?
Depends on severity of ligament damage.
6-8 weeks is worst scenario
4 weeks possible if minor injury

With a complete lateral collateral rupture (which they usually are as you well know) most of the time. They are usually missed by junior docs in casualty in my experience and require delayed reconstruction.

Heard further talk today that @aguerosergiokun is looking like a month out, but no official confirmation

Fingers crossed it's looking like nothing major.

Hope so, mate.

Completely unscientifically, the way he walked off didn't exactly scream 'Out for the season'.

If true, he should take it as a festive break after a long, hard year. Still almost half the season left upon his return and so no need for any negativity in my view. Time for Edin to get a decent run out, which almost invariably benefits him and so the team.
