Maybe, but I'm pretty sure that he has generally struggled after injury. No stats to back it up, but it's the impression I've got over the last few seasons

Only you could say "Maybe" after the stats are laid out before you!

If form=scoring goals his record of scoring goals quickly after returning is superb. I posted this earlier in the thread:

2013/2014 - he “returned” on 5 occassions after injury or lack of 100% fitness. On 4 of those 5 times he had scored within 90 minutes of play - 43 mins, 45 mins, 17 mins and 89 mins.

The one time he didn’t was when he returned for the last game of the season against West Ham and didn’t score.

2014/2015 – he “returned” 3 times scoring after 9 minutes against Newcastle and 1 minute against Liverpool. His only major blip was the return after the Everton Injury when it took him 319 minutes of playing time before he scored.

2015/2016 - this year it took him 58 minutes (sub against WBA and then Chelsea) before scoring. He then returned after injury against Liverpool and scored after 44 mins.

SO, IN 8 OUT OF his last 10 “returns” he has scored within 90 minutes.

So he can score in 2 consecutive games and they both count as returning from injury? These stats are incorrect before anyone else gets excited.

He was being eased in following his injury at the World Cup when he made them sub appearances in consecutive games against Newcastle and Liverpool , so yes I think it's fair to say that they both count as returning from injury.

I've gone through Pablo's post and the stats all check out.

Goals on his comeback game aren't that relevant. What is his form in the weeks that follow.

If there are stats on that, in the month following a long injury, then that would be conclusive.

He's been training for a few days now, so we should see him against Arse, big question is should we ease him in with an impact sub appearance, or have him in from the start??
I'd have him on the bench and give him half an hour. Easier to make an impact against tiring players. If he gets some football and comes through it, that will be a positive and we'll become a stronger team. Getting Kompany and Aguero back and fit and keeping them fit will be key to our season
