It's the end product that's missing though and that's the bit that really matters.

yep, that clinical finish thats vital at this level.

i don't remember him having a decent chance though yesterday...he had a half chance but the defender did really well and left him very little to aim at.....It was naves that wasted the only clear chance we created.....though my memory could be failing me on this

We had 18 shots and 2 on target, man up front was Jovetic.

Pellegrini said this after match to BBC: "But if you get chances and don't take them then it is very difficult to win."

Does some nice things during a game, and can offer that something different. Overall though, I can't get past the number of times he gives the ball away, or the amount of moves that end with him trying and failing to beat a defender. Finishing isn't up to scratch either for me.
This could also be my opinion on Navas.

Yes. Agreed. Furthermore, the truth is
Muslim-Brotherhood.gif

they are pissed off at Jovetic and Navas.
agenda

He was playing far too deep yesterday. We had absolutely no pivotal point upfront. The tippy-tappy flicks and tricks always seem to result in giving the ball away, as do his dribbles with the ball. I think someone else has already pointed out, if he really wants to play as the attacking midfielder, then I rate Silver, Nasri, Milner and Navas higher than him.

You are so smart. Is this how you made 5270 posts? You`re from RAGS Police?
Anyway, what s the meaning of RAG?!

You would know if you was a blue.......RAG!
I thought that english language is more than RAG.
Yes, I know, I`m RAG.

Rag = United fan. I lived in Manchester from 1966 to 1989 and never heard this word to describe United fans once. Only since signing up to BM did I hear the word Rag to describe United fans. I obviously led a sheltered life!!

Anyway back to Jovetic. For me he's neither a striker or an attacking midfielder but a master of none. I'm not sure that he fits in with how we play and he hasn't found any consistency. I would give him until the summer to prove his worth and then ship him out for £20 mill (if we could get it)

I've called them the rags since the early 90s - it was kotk fanzine that i picked it up from, and still use it now! And i'm a local too... local talk for local people hehe!

Think the sad truth is we are trying to force a square peg in to a round hole.

He isn't an out and out striker.

He isn't an inverted winger like Hazard.

He has to be used in a formation like the 4231 or the diamond where he is the main creator behind an attacker. He has quality, skill and technique but if we can swap him for an out and out striker like Lacazette it would be better for our 442 system.

Not sure why we bought him if we knew we wouldn't adapt our formation.

He's a good player though.

Sky sports reporting that jovetic will be sold to Juventus if/when Bony signs. I admit that Bony is certainly the better goal scorer but I think that jovetic brings more to the team, for example you could play jovetic on the left of a 4231 whereas bony can only play up front

i'll take bony over stevan all day long. the main thing for me that tells them apart is actually in defence. bony will be a great player to have when defending set pieces. vital in fact. that could be worth a point or three itself.

Indeed. Jovetic brings little to the team and, personally, I only remember him scoring and, unfortunately, not enough. Seems time for him to go and is best for all concerned. A good player in the wrong team, formation and league, for me. Serie A seems to be his forte. Good luck to him. Arrivederchi.

I can't remember who said it here, but I'll nick the sentiment that Jovetic reminds me of Leonardo diCaprio playing a footballer in a movie. Really looks the part sometimes but in the end it is just all more or less an illusion.

And to the poster who supposedly lived in Manchester all those years and never heard "rag." Really? Been 20 since I lived in the area but it was certainly in regular use then. My dad says it was a term when he was young also. I think it even dates to before the second world war.
