Laughable. Had about 15 minutes in total so far?

A top, top player.

Hope he plays on Wednesday and scores a hat-trick.

I have no doubt he will become just as pivotal as Aguero when he gets up to speed.

I rate him that highly.

I also remember you rating highly the approach of just tweaking the team during the summer which led to us getting Mangala and Fernando. They didn't work out that well.

Just not sure Bony was what we needed or a player that will fit our style of play as good a player that he is.

So do you think that because he was subjectively wrong about one thing then he is objectively wrong about everything he says ever?

Do you think this is a fair standard that we should hold everybody to?

I have no problem with Bon at all as a player...he is a very good forward who will score goals...its where he fits into the system that is the problem

Played as a loan striker then fine...but do we drop aguero to fit him in? Obviously not in most games aguero has to start

Therefore for him to play we have to play with two firwards which then gives us the problem of the old 4-4-2 arguement.

aguero isnt tevez.......his dropping deep into midfield in nowhere near as effective...he cannt tackle and harry as well as tevez used to do...he tries but he is nowhere near as good at it......and im not sure if this is somethign that BOny can do (im prepared to be corrected on that however

so if we play both players and assuming that you would also start Yaya and Silva then how do we play?

The only way i see it is

-----------Aguero-------------- Bony

------------------------Silva

milner--------=yaya------------------ferd

----------------Back 4--------------------------

--------------------GK-------------------------------------------------

That to me is way to open.....but i wouldnt have any other players in there (nasri, navas or fernando are the ones from midfield missing out)

So if Aguero starts then for Bony to play we have to go 4-4-2.........and we know the problems with that already!

For me our best starting 11 for the big games is this

----------------Aguero

-Silva----------------------------Nasri

-----ferd------ yaya-----milner-------

clichy Mangala Kompany Zabba

--------------Hart---------------------

you could argue over nasri and navas as both are equally frustrating in different ways

For me, if BOny plays one of the two forwards has to be able to drop deeper...aguero would be that man but im not sure we wan him doing that

we dont seem to have the players to suit either system of play and come up short which ever way but the 4-5-1 for me is the strongest team we can put out with basically both ferd and milner sitting behind yaya and covering the spaces that barca and liverpool (and various other teams exploit when we play 4-4-2

Looks and plays like Benjani at the moment ie carthorse. Lets hope he can turn this around really needed to have him hit the ground running he hasn't and was lucky to stay on the pitch v dippers.

Fair point.

You do seem very argumentative lately though!

I was having a think about this yesterday and the whole 'if we play Bony/dzeko then we have to play 4-4-2' lark.

No true, I believe if Pelle wants to play either Bony or Dzeko with Aguero, he should be doing the following:

----------Bony/Dzeko----------
Aguero-------------------Silva
----Yaya---Milner---Dinho--

As a 4-3-3, Aguero is more than capable of playing in this role ala Messi, Neymar and Suarez for Barcelona. I know people think this may nullify Sergio's goal but it will mean he practically has a free role and cutting in from the left on his right foot is perfect.

For me the team I have put above is what he should play at barca away and the one we have the best chance with. At home he can then go with 4-4-2 if wanted or in Europe at home, go with 4-2-3-1, like this:

----------Bony/Dzeko----------
Silva------Aguero--------Nasri
-------Yaya-------Dinho-----------

This makes us much more compact in the midfield and helps us keep the ball better, something we have struggled with of late, or If Barca/Real/Bayern are in town we go:

----------Aguero----------
Milner----Silva-----Nasri
------Yaya------Dinho-----

Extra man in midfield will bring even more stability but also means we have enough to hit them on the break.

These 3 formations/systems give us the best stability and also should be the basis for moving forward. Buy players to play this formation/system and we will start going places again. This gives us Plan A, B and C. even a Plan D if he really wants to go 4-4-2.

This is in no way a 'Football Manager' type post either, this is reality

I'll back him, because as a fan I can't change much (we don't have much power in the big money modern game) but I can offer my support to him as he tries to settle in. My personal opinion, when I heard we were going to sign him, was that he wasn't what we needed, and I haven't changed from that view. But we have signed him, and that being the case I'll back him 100% every time he wears the shirt. I hope I'm wrong and he proves himself to be a revelation, but I fear my initial suspicion could prove to be correct.

I understand that he needs time and he hasnt seen much action anyways. But the problem is he wont see huge amounts of playing time anyways cause Dzeko is better player. Always has been, always will be (check his stats, like LBJ would say). So if you are satisfied with rotation player for that kind of money, its ok.

But excuses are funny. Probably the same people who said Jovetic is not striker and does so much more when we signed him. And them jumped on him when he didnt score enough goals
