FFP got us at exactly the right time.

We fucked up not moving him on in the summer, whilst his price was high, and replacing him with Pogba or Vidal etc.

C'est la vie.

Aye, they had us by the balls but how come our management/scouts can't find these great players for peanuts like other clubs? I know it's easier said than done but we have been dining at the top table for a few years now

I think if it wasn't for ffp we would have made a "big" signing this summer. That being said, we have spent c£200m over the last 3 years, and have we bought well?
The only genuine improvement we bought is fernandinho. Jury is out in mangala and fernando as I haven't seen enough of them. Negredo was good first 6 months, but has of course now gone (for a decent price). The last summer of mancinis reign- awful buys. Jovetic can be good- but wonder if he ever will be due to injuries and lack of playing time. Navas is too hit and miss- 1 good game every 3.
I just question for that money, where have we bought top class. I do believe you have to refresh the team with a top player to revitalise it, and keep players on their toes. Not advocating a ridiculous signing every window, but now and again a star name is good for the dressing room as much as anything- players says it does give them a real lift and a buzz.

Nice to see the old chestnut alive and kicking

He's quality but complacent and getting on in years. Think we should sell in the summer and get Vidal/Pogba. Should be restricted to playing behind the striker with 2 of Fernando, Fernandinho or Milner playing behind, unless he gets his form back, cause he's doing nothing for us defensively and it unbalances the team.

Maybe we will see that tomorrow and to be fair he could be devastating in that roll. Trouble is, although he can be a weak link defensively in a midfield 2, we don't look great when he isn't there. Moving Yaya about won't cure all our ills. We need the team as a whole to show some fire in it's belly and I'm sure they will.

I've had a strange feeling these past months or so, not being as excited about my, since early teens beloved, club. I somehow seem to have lost a bit of interest... I'm sad to say. When I first started supporting City, we did not go into every single game expecting to win it, nor did we have drama-queen-players who used media to complain about the club, the manager or teammates. And I loved every second of it, even if we lost more than half of our games.

Now... with things like Yaya's "cake-gate", the old Tevez-affair, Mario's many headlines, all that crap written about the club... I'm not recognizing the club I once fell in love with. I still support the club of course, and watch quite a few games, but I have noticed I care less and less about the results. :(

Yaya and his antics, I think, was what really made the difference for me. I don't feel gratitude towards him for having a great previous season, not one bit. I can't stand the man and I want him out of the club.

I'd love to once again see a City side with hungry players fighting their guts out every time they play, field with passion, inspiration and heart. But maybe that's asking for too much, maybe those are features more easily found in lesser sides?

Tomorrow we have a derby coming up, and I'm not that arsed about it. And that saddens me.
Even if Yaya scores the winner I have had enough of him.
I hope he doesn't play, but I know he will. I really really hope we sell him this January or the latest next summer, replace him with a young hungry energetic player such as Barkley.

End of rant.

Not really a rant; more an expression of deep disappointment. And fair enough.

Hope you fall back in love with the game, mate. The fact you are posting like that suggests you still care more than you think. Tell you what - come back tomorrow after we've shafted the rags and tell me you're not elated. ;)

That's a deal my friend.
And I do care, but it seems it's more often disappointment and meh than pride and ohh!

Now it's time for txiki to earn his money to replace yaya. He's been a ticking timebomb for a few years now and we all knew age was going to catch up with him. It's criminal that we haven't already got someone in who is earmarked to replace yaya when either his legs go or his attitude gets too bad.

Txiki needs to find his replacement in the summer at the latest..DOF needs to up his game as much as yaya here

FFP got us at exactly the right time.

word for word spot on.

Re: Yaya?

DId anyone else also notice how much better he looked once united were down to 10 men and had 2 in midfield?

I honestly believe he needs to play in a 3 man midfield now. It may be a mental issue, it may be b/c of the groin injury that he received at the end of the season (and he never really was that mobile anyways), but he seems dominant when we are matched player to player in numbers in midfield.

Smiling and laughing at the end. Fuck off yaya. Wish we had sold him

May as well have played with 10 men and then he stands laughing and hugging pep at the end, better not say what I want with emotions very raw at the moment! Wanker

The invisible player returns. Laughs and jokes with the opponent team at the end. Wouldn't particularly care if his contract didn't get renewed.

Why the fuck didn't we sell him this summer?

Rating today: -10

Said we should have got shot.

A fucking passenger.

Add that to shocking fitness and couldn't give a shit attitude, he and Nasri continue to steal a living.

He should never pull on a shirt again, he is lazy, petulant and down right not interested,
I couldn't believe we brought Dzeko off before him, he was absolutely abysmal.

RandomJ said:
He's checked out completely. He doesn't give a fuck about playing for us anymore and put in zero effort yet again. Should have sold him in the summer when we could have got good money. Should be dropped to train alone while we throw cakes at the lazy twat till he bucks up his ideas.

sh249 said:
Said at the time, thought we missed a chance in the summer to move him on. He's been fabulous for us, and will rightly go down as one of the greatest players we've ever had. But I can't see a place for him in the side against the top sides in Europe. Can't use him in a midfield two, and not good enough further forward.

Watching him trundling around in that position for the last 25 minutes while Silva was stuck out on the left wing was enough to nearly make my head explode.

Plays like a lazy overweight plank then celebrates with Bayern manager at the end. Time we got rid of him and his effing ego and his birthday cake.

Lavinda Past said:
He's a useless arrogant wage-thieving shiftless bastard. We should drop him permanently and pay someone to take him off our hands in January.

I genuinely hate the ****. I don't care if I never see him again.

The hardest work he did all night was licking Peps arse........ ****

It's fucking stupid. Reckon if we weren't playing with ten men we could of won. I don't blame Yaya to be honest, I don't think he could of made it anymore clear he wanted off the pitch. The fact he didn't play against Arsenal for a full 90 must of been a clerical error.

jollylescott said:
There is a thing called pride in the shirt, and as a consequence feeling gutted if you lose.

That is utterly disgraceful and sends a very poor message that he doesn't care whether we win or lose.

bitsmith said:
Absolute disgrace tonight. After such "don't give a shit" performance I could live without seeing him ever in City shirt.

eastmanc said:
Think Yaya thinks he is doing us a favour playing for us, if he does get rid. Felt sorry for the rest of the team tonight.

Low life ****. How can you watch someone next to you working his fucking guts off (fernandinho) and just casually stroll about not giving a fuck? Tgis prick got a rest on saturday for that. Rat

ChichesterBlue said:
£300k pw for that performance? I couldn't give a shit about people saying "he's carried us enough in the past" - for £300k per week and supposedly world class you're supposed to be a leader in the team every week.

I don't mind if someone has a poor performance...that's not the issue people are making on here - it's the fact he's clearly overweight and just isn't putting the effort in. This is from a player who never had a game at the weekend so should be fresh. Putting our best player (Silva) onto the left to make room for that lazy f*ck was just a bad decision.

No surprise that we looked much more solid in the 2nd half in the middle of the pitch with Milner & Fernandinho....

Get rid of him - been a great player for us, but his time is at and end....Fernando & Fernandinho for me.

TFC said:
He's a c**t. Said so in the summer and seen nothing so far this season to change my mind. Fat lump having a jog in circles in a game as big as that? We should have fucked him off in the summer...hope he proves me wrong but I think we will regret not doing so.

We are stuck with him until January.

Bobbins said:
Yaya made Mario look like a grafter tonight !! Maybe he was just fucked and should have been substituted ?? But if you are playing you could at least look interested and put some effort in, Milner's piss must be boiling when he watches such an obvious lack of effort and he can't get a game !!

I see the armchair brigade are out, "YAYA NEVER SCORED A GOAL WE SHOULD SELL"

The next time Yaya has a stormer he'll not be the overweight, overpaid, uninterested, lazy ****.

Is right lad.

Ha ha, enjoyed that lot. Lavinda Past particularly hilarious as always. Contender for MotM again today, until he ran out of steam in the last 15 mins, but then he is 31 and built like a brick shit house, so I'll happily cut him some slack. We won't half miss him when he's gone
