Re: Yaya?

I'm not sure what people expect from Toure. Dominating possession against a three man midfield was mostly down to him, he was the deep orchestrator of everything. He's not playing a box to box role this year, it looks to me that Pellegrini has asked him to sit deeper and so he isn't doing those lung busting runs he did last year. It doesn't get the best out of him, but it gets the best out of the system and if Agueros touch hadn't deserted him in the first half, we could have been three nil up and Toures individual performance would not have been critiqued at all. He's become a bit of a scapegoat where there are other bigger culprits for me.

In terms of his mentality and state of mind, people only need to look at his performances at the World Cup to see that the dip in form he has gone through is not a city only thing. As I'm sure anyone who has gone through grief knows, it can quite easily have an impact on your work and I trust Pellegrini completely in his judgment and allowing Toure to play his way back in to form - that goal today, which was excellent, will hopefully do him the world of good.

Is he (and his agent) an idiot? Absolutely. He's a professional footballer, most of them are. He is still one of our best assets though and has been an integral to our success over the past few years. For me, that coupled with the off the pitch issues he has suffered recently, I think he deserves a bit more slack than some people seem willing to give.

If we retain the title this year, part of it will be down to Toure. When he is on song, he changes us from being a very good team to a great team.

Re: Yaya?

the posters who have thrown the lazy c*nt insults , maybe should show the guy a bit of understanding and compassion instead of their knee jerk aggression , personally i would have rested yaya today , but MP proved why he is the manager , lets hope this lifts yaya , and we see the real player , WE WANT ARE YAYA BACK

Hahaha (I agree btw there are some reet fickle ones about)

Hahaha, I was referring to them getting killed on the counter attack. Which was actually happening before Fernando came on.

Haha I know mate spot on really, hope to see a Fernandinho Fernando and Yaya trio in midfield soon so we can see more of that from Yaya.
Especially in Europe. We can still get through that group with those three in there!

Pellers should take more critism for playing Yaya in a midfield two

It does not really suit Yaya and thats the second game when we have had to change formation because we were getting over run in midfield

The issue is with Pellers and he need to put a team together that compliments and play to the strengths of its key players and regardless of how "shit" people think he has been he is a key player and has been a fantastic player for us since he joined and has been integral to everything we have achieved

Bit harsh.
Yaya plays no matter what.
Manuel went on the offensive and played Edin and Sergio, so you can't play Fernandinho and Fernando as well.

Re: Yaya?

really hope this goal today sparks him back into life, cos so far this season he just hasn't looked interested one bit even today he constantly gave the ball away and was lazy, then he pops up with a very clever goal.Come on Yaya lets see the real you again now

Re: Yaya?

I'm baffled I think he's been playing really well, regardless of his goal.

He needs to be pushed forward a bit and I'd play a midfield 3 in the centre, but he's still starting the majority of attacks.

Really don't understand the criticism.

He didn't have a particularly good game all round. He kept slowing the play down by taking too many touches until everyone was standing still and he had to play a safe pass. But at least he was recycling the ball in our favour.

There were a few very poor passes for crucial situations, especially that ball he played over the top for Silva when a good pass would have seen Silva 1v1 with Guzan.

Defensively he wasn't working hard enough.

Once Fernando came on Yaya looked a different player.

His goal was class! Hopefully he can kick on from here now and shut me and everyone up.

Defensively??? Did he not chase back and deny a breakaway in the first half? Some people do talk crap on here.

Re: Yaya?

He's easily in the top ten of players who have ever player in the PL, yet some on here still are not happy. For all the clowns on here saying he is shit, name me a better or more influential player who has ever played for us?
