Player topic : Yaya Toure (2015/16)

Said it in the match thread, but he also needs Fernandinho and Delph to try and cross the half way line with the ball. He is the only one of the three who does it. Without him, Silva and De Bruyne don't get the ball.

He did get caught more than a few times, but he is the only player who is expected to operate close to both penalty areas and he appears to be the sole link between the backline and the front line, which is easy to stop with a double press.

Delph and Fernandinho spent an awful lot of time closing down space Without ever managing to get a grip on the opposition. Furthermore, they did very little with the ball, nor did they even attempt to.

Our attacking play is stifled because it all goes through 3 or 4 players, and neither De Bruyne (and to a lesser extent) Silva will consistently go deep enough to pick up the ball.

Of course its easier to blame it all on Toure. So with that in mind, if we take him out of the team, we should stroll to success...like we did last January when he was away.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever read anything so deluded on this forum in fuck knows how many years. Wow.

He's been utter shite all season. You can keep his fleeting moments of genius for me, he can just fuck right off before that wanker of an agent of his starts his inevitable and stupid a games again. Bye bye Yaya.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what Ono has posted there.

Bizarre comment.

Suggest you put your vitriol aside and watch what is actually happening on the pitch.

This is clueless.

Agree with this.

He does my tits in but he starts everything. Fernandinho and Delph/Fernando contribute nothing with the ball going forward. Fernandinho has his moment sometimes, but not nearly enough.

Yaya has several faults, but he needs someone better with him. If he's off his game or too deep, there is literally no service into attacking midfield positions. Forces Silva and KdB to come deeper and isolate Aguero.

That is the big issue. I stated it weeks ago. Yaya is the only one who links the defence to midfield to attack. When he is pushed forward we end up playing too direct as highlighted by the spurs/united game.

But some how Fernandinho and other players get a free pass, who contribute nothing offensively besides collecting the ball playing it square and exacerbating the slow, pedestrian football we have seen for months away from home

He hates Yaya, anything that deviates from that narrative is shocking to him. Obo hasn't even said Yaya played well, just that others need to show what Yaya offers so we can move him. But nooooooooo, if you don't think Yaya is worse than your Grandma you are clueless

You're ever more deluded than he is.

Name one single positive thing that Yaya contributed in that game? Just one.....
