That's a great review. When you see how many times the opposition team can get past our central midfield and at our defence Yaya should be sprinting a lot more than he does. He's miles behind our other central midfield options. That's the telling stat in my opinion. He's still got quality but he either can't play every game so he's got the energy to put more effort in when he does play, or he's used in a more forward role. Personally I'd be using him sparingly as we did Lampard last season. The trouble is, with Yaya, he still thinks he's god's gift and he's unlikely to commit to the cause if he's not playing week in week out.

An undoubted star in our successful sides, he's egotistical and wants success for largely selfish reasons. His comments about not winning African player of the year were evidence of this. I hope that by playing him we don't sacrifice our chances of success. He's still a top class player but needs to be managed in terms of minutes on the pitch.

Agree with you but probably bring shame to Africa in doing so.

absolutely spot on

the reason those idiots int he media want to criticise him so much is that they know that he is instrumental in us playing well and dominating...they will do anything to disrupt that...especiually the likes of scholes who remember yaya absolutely dominated on the field and who has been instrumental in bringing about the downfall of his beloved team (can add owen into that as well)...the same with lawrenson who has had to watch yaya make a fool out of gerrard every time he played against him....they cant stand it

we know yada's weaknesses and we know that we have to stop using him as a focus to build the team around as its not working anymore and his effectiveness is diminishing (though not as much as people on here make out and he is still a vital cog in linking and moving the ball back to front as none of the others can do that as well as he can...).....his agent is also a prize prick but that is football these days and some people need to stop being so precious about what has gone on in the past.

they guy when he leaves will do so in my eyes as an absolute legend and instrumental in bringing about our success in the last 5 years (along with the other key players)......the fact that he has systematically made fools of some of the best english footballers of this generation along the way brings an even bigger smile to my face...the likes of gerrarrd, terry, scholes etc couldn't get close to him

just remember the comments on when we first bought him and that argument that was on 5 live between a city fan and someone on there (ex rag) saying he had never heard of him......and he want the only one..........He has made them look fools and they cant stand it and now they are trying to get one over on him and the club in any way possible

Truer words have never been written...

He's never been a high sprints player though. He keeps moving (covering more ground than Fernandinho) and making himself available for the ball but he's never been one for lots of short, sharp bursts.
Whilst that's true, the sprint stats are appalling.

Quoting from the article:

"Toure is the anomaly. Despite his role at the heart of the action, he is averaging only 26 sprints per 90 minutes this season - the fewest of any outfield player at the club. Manchester City's goalkeepers do sprint less often than that - but not by much."

He's not lazy. He just can't sprint and recover at his current level of fitness. maybe he could do that if he played every other game, and if he came on for half an hour

I await the day when Toure hangs this club out to dry out of damaged ego or malice.

I suspect headlines of 'You'll never be United" to accompany his exit.

Bony, also, when he fucks off.

He would only make a twat of himself given the numerous quotes of how much he loves the club and the fans and wants to spend the rest of his career here.

I will always appreciate what he has done for us and he was a remarkable, world class talent but not so long ago we could have cashed in and its a lesson to those running the club imo. yes FFP was busy biting but big clubs sell big players at big times and its something we must not be frightened of doing going forward.

The team must always come before individuals.
