There's a TV channel here (South Africa) that shows classic sports matches from the past. All sports, but mainly football and rugby.

Yesterday they showed England vs. Czechoslovakia from 1974, with players like Hughs, Hunter, Bell, Keegan, Channon and Brooking.

Bell scored two goals and generally had class written all over him, but there were some really great players in that team, especially Channon and Brooking.

My point - apart from stating the obvious - do none of the stars from that era have sons that have inherited their footballing genes ?

weve got swp (although not blood), and had nigel clough and mike and nicky sumerbee

Isn't Alan Oakes' son a goalkeeper? Michael Oakes I think.
Tony Book and his son was goalkeeper for Cheltenham.

Steve Book was Tony's nephew but a great keeper.
1st choice at Chelt for 7 years including getting them into league for 1st time in clubs history in 2002 and they have stayed ever since. Bit of a David James tho, brilliant most of time, but always a schoolboy error around the corner.

To be fair Selby, while he was at Chelt i always thought he was Tony's son and so put him on a pedestal.
Was only when he left that i found out that he wasnt and then i started remembering all the shite goals he let in instead of all the brilliant saves he made!!!!

God im a fickle f*ck*r!!!

His brother was a goalie for Northampton and was in goal when they got stiffed by the rags in a cup game when Best came back from suspension and scored 5 or 6 goals (can't remember exact figure) against them.

Rag twat Nobby stiles`s son John played for dirty leeds in the 80`s in the same team as john sheridan & david batty.

I saw him at Ashton utd social club the other month at a sportsmans dinner, he was funny as fuck carving out a career as as a stand up comic.
He works alongside Steve (£1.47million)Daley & between them they had everyone in stitches.
