Players, managers or chairmen that you got completely wrong

Gonna throw in another. Paul Walsh. When we signed him from Portsmouth I was totally underwhelmed. Remember reading it on teletext and thinking WTF?. I knew he had been a decent player at Liverpool and Spurs but considered him past it.

In his brief stint at Maine Road he became one of my all time favourite City players. I was gutted when Alan Ball swapped him for Gerry Creaney :(
