Interesting article about players whose contracts are up next summer, meaning that clubs may well be interested in moving them on this summer.

Dani Alves is an interesting one, although I'd hate to see us get Maicon-ed again. Anyone been keeping up with Iker Muniain at Athletic Bilbao? He looked a great prospect a year or two back.

We have quite a few in that boat ourselves: Dzeko, Nasri, Kolarov, Milner and Richards. I wouldn't be surprised if three of those players moved on.

Dzeko and Richards can go for me. We've moved on from good to world beaters and these 2 don't cut the mustard. I feel a bit sorry for Micah as he's a club man, but unfortunately he needs to go somewhere where he can play in the centre of defence to get his fitness back. He's going to break down again at right back for us, he's carrying too much muscle.

Kolarov, hard to choose. Having a good season but his defending gives me nightmares at times.

Nasri, keep

Milner, keep if we can. He's one of the most important players in the team due to being able to play a number of positions and make a difference when he's playing. The issue is whether he'll settle for playing occasionally when he'd start at any other PL club with the exception of Chelsea, where he'd probably have a similar role.

How anyone could want Micah gone is beyond me.
He's better going forward than Zaba and not far off him defensively.
He's only ever been poor when playing at centre back or when not at full fitness.
Admittedly he is very injury prone but it won't always be like this where he plays 5 games a season, we just need another right back who can fill in when neither Zaba or Micah can play or need a rest.

Is this a joke?

They may have been at a similar level at one stage two or three years ago, but since that time Richards has stagnated, if not regressed, while Zabaleta has developed into one of the finest right-backs in Europe.

Also, with a senior squad of 25, you really can't justify having three specialist right-backs in the squad.

No one said they wanted him gone, they said they wouldn't be surprised if he was let go. As for being better than Zab going forward, that's simply not true. A couple of years ago he was, but not any more. Micah has regressed, whilst Zabba has continued to improve, season after season. Defensively he's nowhere near him.
The only reason to keep Micah at City is sentimentality, and for me that isn't good enough.

Someone's been playing football manager 2014.*sigh*

Keep Nasri and Milner - the others represent an opportunity to upgrade.
