Always looks more comfortable on the left than right, which is not what we currently need, but the bigger question would be whether this season is a purple patch, in a lower league, or him finally realising that the opportunities won’t always come around and that he’s finally knuckling down. He’s often been dogged with accusations of attitude problems in regards training, both in the Netherlands and England, and even though he’s having a good season, he has continued to be overlooked at the national level. Phillips problem for me is he didn't have the mentality to make it at city. Multiple world class players, fighting everyday for your position, behind the greatest CDM in the world and a (rightly so) demanding manger. He simply didn't have the minerals.After the Kalvin Phillips situation I wouldn't be in a rush to sign anymore Leeds players. Frimpong is not a bad call but it is just prising him away from Bayer Leverkusen is the trickiest part especially with Alonso staying for another season. Keeping an eye on who Bayern is going to move on is another option.
