Players who might improve us

For random CB's who've never been linked with us, I'd go for Victor Lindelof, he's been absolutely outstanding since coming into the Benfica team showing a composure and defensive solidity that is ridiculously impressive for someone in their first season. Was excellent for Sweden U21's as well last summer when they won the Euro's. Far more impressive than John Stones and has been doing it at a higher level in the Champions League. €30m release clause apparently, so a bargain by our defensive standards, just need Super John to put in a good word
Rumours we could be about to nip in before Jose ;)

Alderweireld
Not been a direct link as such but Football Leaks (who have a reputation of being reliable regarding contracts) are reporting that his buyout clause is just £25m. Surely that's an absolute no brainer if true?

that short black lad for Everton is immense. Plays like Kante but I honestly think he has more to his game than Kante does. Seen him a few times and every single time he's been the best player on the pitch. Had Pogba in his pocket and was half the size of him. Wish we sign him.

Always thought Alderwereld looked good when at Southampton, and not seen anything to change that opinion. If there is a buyout clause in his contact, could be worth a punt.

There needs to be a buyout clause otherwise Daniel Levy will be looking for £100 million as a starting point !

It's all a bit vague at the moment but apparently he has a £25m buyout clause that will be activated in 2019 if he doesn't renew:

It was claimed a few days ago that it was £30m and one currently in effect but that was followed by apparent denials from Spurs that any of their players have buyout clauses. Spurs are being a bit slippery with this one and there seems to be more than a touch of panic in the way it's being handled.

Shall we also beg Pep to get Messi as Kun is off form too?
Difference is that we know aguero actually has talent regardless of his bad patch and can be the most lethal player in the PL.

Bravo, albeit hasn't been here long...has proved absolutely nothing other than he can pass a ball well under pressure. I Hope that changes obviously but I just can't see it. Even in De gays first season at the scum he was a good shot stopper looking past how much he flapped, this guy of ours has nothing going for him. How many of our rivals would have him over the likes of courtois, Lloris, Cech etc? He wouldn't even make their benches mate.

Has nothing going for him - Stop talking bollocks

Gueye,

Very good player, had similar stats to Kante last season. Even bettered him in some of them I think and that was playing for Villa who were woeful. Would have definitely signed him as a defensive option to throw onto see out games (I guess we have Fernando)

Not good enough on the ball I don't think for Pep, a lot of clubs missed a trick by not signing him though. Went for 7mil I think (relegation release cause). Very good business from Koeman who rarely does bad signings.

Answer my question though, how many of our rivals would have him over their current choice??

What's he got going for him then exactly?? other than being good with his feet and throwing a ball out of the box quickly?

1st choice for Barca, highly capped and decorated international, recently rated top 5 in the world I believe. I understand you don't rate him and that's your prerogative, but c'mon, he has nothing going for him is frankly pathetic.

There is no question to answer as it's hypothetical and whatever my response, it would be meaningless.

Who would you want in goals for us then?

But he's in the premier league now, a totally different kettle of fish. Okay maybe saying nothing going for him is abit far but at the end of the day, apart from his footwork, he's not exactly Neaur is he? Might as well just stick yaya in goal if we want a good passer in net. His shottstopping abilities aren't even on par with the man who bravo replaced. He seems to flap like fuck in a crowded penalty area and clearly doesn't communicate well with the pourus defence. That was one thing joe did well was being very vocal, that's just one of the things you want in a good keeper.

Who would I have? I'd personally have someone like someone like ter Stegen but Barca wouldn't give away their best keeper would they? Remember they have their number 2 to us. No but Someone like Lloris would be my pick which isn't exactly an impossibility with him going through the houses every season at spuds. Doubt Pep would have anyone else though so we'll just have stick with what we got for the season!

Of our last two keepers, the one who used to flap like fuck in a crowded area is on loan in Turin. I get it you dont rate Bravo, but he is a much more acomplished keeper than you struggle to give him credit for. Other than shot blocking, I believe he is better than Joe in all other aspec ts of keeping.

So I read on another site that Thiago Silva is out of contract in the summer, he's 32 now so will probably be 33 or approaching there by then. I understand he's had some injury problems at PSG, but all i can say from watching him at Milan is when fit (obviously a few years ago) he was up there as one of the best defenders in the world.

Would it be worth a punt if he's on a free? Or should we be aiming for younger, considering he would take up an overseas player place in our quota and we don't know about his fitness?

Mentioned this guy back in March in the Kante thread and it got shot down because he played for Villa so was automatically not good enough for us. Great buy from Everton, basically Kante but better on the ball and was a 1/4 of the price.

Niklas Sule. Physical monster 6'5 & like 15 and half stone, he's good on the ball too. When Kompany is out, our back-line is fairly easy to bully.

Fuck off has he just turned 21, he's an absolute beast! Looks comfortable bringing the ball into the opposition's half too.

I've been meaning to watch a few Hoffenheim games recently; been hearing nothing but good things about Nagelsmann. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this lad.

Kasper Schmeichel.

Okay, first off, I haven't heard anything whatsoever to say he's moving anywhere.

But interested in people's opinions.

He's developed into a very, very solid keeper and could likely play in a Pep system.

Leicester's purple patch will end soon to see them never play a champs league game for another 20 years and the team will disband. They also brought in a second number 1 keeper during the summer, so I could see him moving on.

With all of this in mind, would you see him back?

Could he be an answer? Willy's moving on, Joe is gone and we've plenty of football to share around and the way Bravo has bedded in means he'll by no means be the guaranteed 1 come Summer unless he really improves.

So folks, thoughts?
