Playing for a draw in that Arsenal game

The usual case of a team suddenly getting in our face and City being unable to deal with it for some reason. Be it Wigan, Cardiff or Arsenal, it's a repeating phenomenon.

I don't think we did,they played well 2nd half
We should have settled for a draw on sunday but thats just me

I think that is what is missing results wise this season Karen7 but as MP has said it not his style and the players have to buy into that.

If we are one up with sometime to go we will still play the same and sometimes that leaves us a victim to the counter attack.

We probably don't know how to batten down the hatches and cling onto what we have to some degree.

4 draws all season in the premier league and one draw in the FA Cup says it all I would suggest.

There are definately times a draw would be a sensible result

What a strange thing we did.... Still can't get my head around it.

No we didn't I went to that game and it was a sloppy goal against us but we were not playing for a draw.

No I meant after they scored we just seemed to shut up shop and defend.

I wouldn't say we played for the draw. But Arsenal were there for the taking after Chelsea had mauled them a few days earlier. We got ahead and feel we should have gone on and mauled them too,as they were on the ropes.
We seemed to think the game was won at 1-0 and got what we deserved by letting them back in the game and not finishing them off, imho.

Which is fantastic if you ask me. The only two matches where it would have been good to settle for draws were Chelsea and Liverpool away, and in both cases we looked much more like winning. Neither of those sides had many chances when the scores were level, and it was two poor mistakes that let them in. Good sides like those two will make chances even if you try to close down the game.

Otherwise, it's maybe cost us against Villa (again a freak result), but how many other times. 3 times as many points for a win than a draw means it's better to lose against a poor side occasionally than settle.
