A blast from the past
was talking with old friends about the nights mostly drunken one we spent in the legendary curry house run by Charlie.has any other blues visited or can remeber the curries from there..no fancy names...mild.meduim hot charlie special etc,we once got a takeaway from him and the sauce was given to us in a old pint milk bottle..you dont get service like that anymore lol ,another part of manchester thats gone forever
miss it almost as much as Maine rd

No idea what english gravy was, never had it.

I'd been going with a bird in the 70's who kept mithering to take her for a meal. I eventually said ok, she said "where we going" I said "the plaza". She said "sounds good!" Needless to say she wasn't impressed.

Christ....Charlies aka the Plaza cafe.That brings back memories.Once had a mixed grill in there for some strange reason and it came with a 'side order' of cabbage.Remember the water jugs where old vases,milk bottles,sample jars,not one chair matched nor did the table cloths.Rice was always cold and the curry came in a separate bowl.Happy daze.
