Zabaleta is a solid right back, he fights for the ball when we dont have it.
Micahs posistioning is absolutely shocking. we wouldnt of conceeded in the 198th minute at the derby if he was in position..

I wouldnt say a better overall footballer but a better defender IMO and first and foremost that is a fullbacks job, i know he was poor against utd and dropping him against Fulham might just be the kick up the backside he needs.

Putting in a successful cross is not first on the list of jobs for a full back, just a bonus if he can do it, he has got to put extra work into that part of his game and dont forget he is still very young.

I love the irony of the original post. Whinging about people getting on micah's back too quickly then getting on Zabaleta's back after 1 single game starting this season. Micah has been average at best at RB across the last season, and while he has had some good performances such as against Arsenal, he has had more then his share of shockers, like againsut Utd. Until Zabaleta gets a decent run in the team this term, this thread is absolutely ridiculous imo. I'm far from convinced that your assertion that Richards is a far better footballer compared to Zabaleta is so cut and dry either. For one thing, Zabaleta doesn't just wander back when he feels like it when he goes forward- this is one are where Richards is absolutely terrible, almost every game he just wanders back at his own pace, no matter how the play develops around him. His positioning defensively also leaves an awful lot to desire, and in that area I think Zabaleta is a more developed and better player at the current time.
