Cue the loyalty point poilice saying "but people will just buy the ticket for the points and not bother turning up"
Well they've more money than sense then

Perhaps this could be stopped by the club only apportioning the points when you have gained actual access into the stadium.

Also, it is obviously easy enough for City to add loyalty points to our accounts, so it should be just as easy to deduct them. If you buy a ticket and don't turn up, you get a points deduction.

After all, is a ''Loyalty'' points system.
I'm sure I read somewhere in the closed season that they were thinking of bringing in a system that you only got the points if your card was activated

Anyone loaning their Ticket Out with no Intention of going is a **** as they are deprieving Blues of Tickets.

A bit of a sweeping statement there. As I mentioned earlier on the thread, my brother can't go to aways so I use his season ticket a few times a season to take my lad to matches. Back in the '90's, I rarely missed a game but since moving away from MCR, can't afford to go much these days. How is he deprieving a blue from going to a game when it's me getting to the match? I supported the club through the shit years but life circumstances mean that I can't enjoy the glorious years now. I go to non glamourous aways such as Blackburn last season and I'm planning Villa this season. Does this annoy you?

I think anybody will accept that if a friend or a family member asks to use your membership if your not going then fair enough there friends and family! The real problem is buying the ticket with no intention of going and then coming straight to Blue Moon and saying you have a spare!

-- Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:16 pm --

Well, not really,no. Surely the opposite, they are allowing a Blue who possibly wouldn't normally be able to go,a chance to go? Unless tickets are being purchased for none-blues?

There are many different circumstances whereby people would use someone else's ticket,to generalise like that is unfair. This method of getting tickets has happened for years, and will continue for many more.

No its not right no matter who the person is helping out!! Nobody should be helped out that hasn't got enough points if there was 1 ticket left for Madrid and somebody got it with no intention of going and sold it to a blue that didn't meat the selling criteria then that would be unfair on the next person who qualifies for points!

So what would happen if you ligitimately couldn't turn up. I work all over and quite often have had to miss/been late for midweek games as I am stuck on a motorway somewhere.

Why should I miss out on points in those circumstances where it was beyond my control and I can't even pass the ticket on as I have it in my wallet? Lose/Lose then isn't it

exactly, if they really want to reward loyalty then villa should be 200 points and utd away 10 points.

that way though we are "buying" fans. if they dont want to watch watch city fuck em.

not really, a true loyal fan will turn up at Eastlands to watch City, I join all cup schemes because I know if City are at home then I'll be there regardless of the opposition or in which competition. Someone else might think bollox to the League Cup I'll save my money, buy a ticket for Fulham away and flog it and I'll get more points.

Same here i wanted Burton Albion so i could see a few goals get put away! People would not be asking for them tickets though would they? The only want the small games like United and Real Madrid

-- Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:22 pm --

Leave earlier or don't buy the ticket if there is a possibility you won't make it

If you were late and still entered the stadium, you would still get your points. If you totally missed the game, for whatever reason, i suppose it would have to go down to experience.

Does anyone want my ST for the derby as there is a possibility I may be ill or my car may breakdown on the way to the ground.

And unfortunately I can't ask a client if he can finish a meeting early as I wouldn't mind the chance of catching the game later in Manchester

What if you are run over by a bus or attacked by a really angry basset hound? Who's going to police this? As far as City are concerned, you've bought their product; it's up to you whether you use it or not.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on here who will be happy to set up a committee to rule on each individual case

The early rounds of the league cup and the Europa cup we played in a half empty stadium, do those 20k supporters who didnt bother to attend deserve to be on a level playing felid as the rest of us who attended those games, do they fuck. Not now and not in 10 years time. Villa at home in the cup level 3 closed says it all really.

This is my argument with the ticket office. There's been a balls up with my cup scheme registration. To be fair (as I've told them) I don't honestly know if it's my balls up or theirs, but neither do they. However the bottom line is they won't do anything to try and resolve the situation and, as a result, I have to rely on a friend to obtain a ticket for Real Madrid away (does that make him a ticket whore, or a mate doing a friend in the shit a favour?). What pisses me off is that, even though I'm disappointed with the way the club has dealt with my problem, I'll still be at the game against Villa as I (and many others) have been for all the early rounds against so called un-fashionable teams in the past but that seems to count for nothing now at the club and should we have a good cup run this season, I'll be punished later on for not being in the cup scheme. That's without mentioning that 7250 loyalty points now no longer guarantees you a ticket for Fulham away !
