Political relations between UK-EU

Prescient doesn’t even cover it...

The thing I don’t get it is @mcfc1632 gleefully reporting a collapse in trade with Europe just to ‘win’ an argument on a football forum. Shouldn’t he be wanting what is best for the UK?

Sad.
Now now - don't post falsehoods/twist words.

a) I am not reporting at all on the level of trade with Europe - my posts are exclusively about checking the veracity of what was promised to be a certainty with regard to chaos on the roads

b) I am not at all being gleeful - I am wasting 10mins a day looking for any evidence of the veracity of your predictions

c) That I have been a steadfast supporter of Leaving the EU is clearly, IMO, evidence that I have the best interests of the UK as a priority

But is "... ‘win’ an argument on a football forum. ...." you saying that you were wrong and that I was right to be sceptical?

No - I am not having that;-)

A few more less lorries required to travel through Kent. Too much winning.

Trade guys are going nuts, they want to see queues. Imports are not subject to checks as we’ve applied a six months grace period, but lorries aren’t going to import unless they have a relatively hassle free return consignment.

Mixed loads are a proving difficult, which is bad news for small UK exporters as they are always part of a shared load. Same problems with GB to NI trade.

I have looked at the old thread to check the veracity of your claim that all the Remainers were predicting 7000 lorries queuing in Kent. The reality is that one person posted a link to an article about Michael Gove's worst case scenario and every other mention of 7000 lorries, and there are quite a few, have come from your little Cheesy buddy.
There is just one person being disingenuous here.

It seems, going forward, that the profile of Brits in Spain will change from retired to working with an income stream. Sad that we have dashed the retirement dreams of the common man.

"We have traditionally been a community here of expats who are on average 50-plus. Last year it changed, and the average age was 45. If you come over in 12 months, it'll be more like an average age of 35.

If you're 70 or 80 years old and you don't understand this new system, the new paperwork, the driving licences needing to be switched over, say for example they get ill - what are they going to do? I think a lot of people will go back to the country where they speak the language. You no longer have the best of both worlds, and people can't rely on speaking only English to get by.

They will be replaced by a younger set of people who can afford to be here."

we brought the end of free movement upon ourselves - just fancy that

Hull also affected, this time with regard to the agreements not in place with Norway, Faroes, Greenland. More boats not at sea and this was supposed to be the UK priority in talks.

Yep - if only the Remainer led UK government during 2016-2019 and undertaken the required planning to capture all the requirements in each of the sectors then we would indeed have less disruption in the early part of 2021.

Because they did not - through a mixture of their desire to have Brexit overturned (Hammond) and outright incompetence (May/Robbins) - then the UK has to suffer more disruption than was/is necessary.

A whole lot of this is directly down to May's government not commencing Brexit preparations either early enough or in a sufficient level of detail and commitment

As I have said frequently - Leavers have far more reason to be pissed off with the UK government (2016-2019) than Remainers

An inconvenient truth - but the truth nevertheless

I work in recruitment Vic and I source people formerly on tier 2 for sponsorship all the time.

All my major clients offer sponsorship.
An ill wind, eh? Twice the work as the rules now apply to every would-be immigrant and not just those outside the EU.

At least lorry queues would indicate some trade was happening. Seems Kent has the worst of all worlds. No trade and massive areas tarmaced over.
