Political relations between UK-EU

Every single thing that’s happened negatively that can be pinned on Brexit has been in here, this thread is EU-UK relations and the EU are threatening Britain.

Where would you want it discussed?
Still thinks it's the brexit thread, that's why.

I also have no problem with people posting tweets as long as they're not opinion stated as fact.
I agree that the EU have handled it particularly badly but I find the ill-disguised gloating about it from some on here unpleasant, and the attempts to link it to Brexit pathetic.
I see it fairly simply. In these extraordinary times Covid has been handled fairly badly in most eu countries and in the UK, vaccinations has been handled badly both by the eu and by it’s individual members. The UK has handled vaccination better than probably any other country worldwide. Being in or out of the eu didn’t prevent the UK either acting differently on covid or vaccination. Nor any other member.
When we get back to ordinary times after covid being out of the eu will be bad for jobs, businesses and the economy, bad for the union, with as far as I can see no benefits at all, to peoples everyday living.

The EU basically cocking up their strategy and then claiming that clause didn’t exist, when it blatantly does.

It just reminds be of UEFA with City.

In their defence I genuinely believe they’re better than this, it’s them at their worst.
Yes, completely agree they have handled the comms around this terribly and been made to look foolish by AZ simply playing a straight bat and telling the truth.

If that is in the U.K. contract specifically, AZ have breached the contract.
AstraZeneca said on Wednesday that it can't send doses made in the UK to the EU, because it's contract for UK supplies prevented this. I'm only guessing made in the UK is for the UK based on this statement.

You may well be right but I still don’t see it as a Brexit issue although I accept that the way it is developing it could be allowed to sour relations.

I would like to know what people actually think of the selling of the IP from each of the companies that developed a vaccine. It really is a discussion for the Covid thread though, I think.

Interesting article;

This one from November is interesting for the finances involved and the final paragraph about the prognosis of profit into the future off Covid alone;

This is a great book, highly rated:

Broken Vows: Tony Blair The Tragedy of Power
Book by Tom Bower

It was described as more comprehensive than the Chilcott inquiry on Iraq alone.

Unless I’ve got this mixed up, Blair was trying his damnedest to get us into the Euro and Brown opposed him for the reason Brown made Blair’s life hell all the time, he hated him and wouldn’t forgive him for going for the leadership when he said he wouldn’t.
I will drop you a PM - Blair's 'future role' was being lined up and to secure it - all he had to do was......

As it's clearly about winning an argument on a football forum, why don't you quote some of the posts where people have got it wrong.

Yep which would back up the EU saying that would be a breach of contract.
